Avoid -- I watched this show the other night and I was appalled. The character Jack (played by an actor who went to my college) especially is bad because he is the "funniest" gay character and is therefore the most appealing to young children. Also, he is played by a handsome young man, ...I fought to suppress my attraction to him. I am a reformed homosexual who is now married to a wonderful woman, and people like me don't need such horrible filth on TV to tempt us back into sin.

Darling, you aren't reformed if you have to fight back your attraction to guys, no matter what you've been told... :/

Is this guy talking about Pirates of the Caribbean? And yeah, I agree with ladyBaird, if you are still tempted, then you aren't "reformed". I wonder how often he pesters his wife to let him take her up the butt?

I know there are going to be any number of snide comments, but I can't seem to hate this guy. He's probably a victim of one of those "reforming homosexuals" programs and has been so thoroughly brainwashed that he doesn't know any better.

Okay everyone: all gay characters must be incredibly boring and played by ugly people because Eric said so.

The show they are talking about Will and Grace, hardly a children's show. Oh and Eric, if you are attracted to Jack on that show, you sir are a homosexual.

No, you're a coward who won't stand up for what's right. But that's a separate issue. What's really important is: don't have ANY children with your beard...err "wife". For the love of GOD don't destroy innocent childrens' lives with your self-loathing and sexual hangups! If you want to have a sham marriage with this deluded woman that's fine, you're only hurting eachother. But you'll inevitably fall in love with another man and eventually divorce your beard...err "wife". I've seen it many times.

Jack from Will and Grace? Honey, I think you're really deep in that closet to fight an attraction to him over Will.

Will & Grace? I thought it was Torchwood when I read it.

Meatwaddle: I'm thinking the same thing. For all we know, he's a bi in denial.

And besides, why does homosexuality such a big deal for you while watching this? It's just a TV show, the farthest thing from reality there can be.

They always put nice handsome young men as the gay guys on TV. The gays are also always polite, sassy, fabulous, witty, and talented. This promotes the idea that it's fun and tempting to be a gay.

But in real life, gays are associated with a higher rate of anal disease, high rates of violent crimes against children and other such innocents, more racist tendencies, generally more greedy, and definately known for notorious public displays of affection (to include oral sex in front of children at their "parades").

Gays on TV should definately be displayed as balding middle-age fat men with bad dandruff. They should smoke cheap cigars and wear unfashionable clothing. And above all, they should be portrayed as ignorant and narrow-minded. This approach worked on "All in the Family" and we eliminated bigotry.

If you made the gays as unappealing as Archie Bunker, we'd see a decrease in gays to pre-1950 levels.

Careful EE, it sounds as if your personal closet door is closed but definitely not locked. One of these days Mr. Right is going to come along, turn the handle, and then finally you will be who you really are. My advice would be to stop pretending, be honest with yourself and your wife, and open the door on your own terms. I wish you all the luck and joy in the world.

=( "reforemd" gays make me so sad... why hurt yourself like that? You are only answerable to *yourself* Eric, not "God". So, you should do what makes you happy =( don't punish yourself for something that isn't wrong.

Sidenote: Madame Scarlet: seconded >.< Jack is cute, but Will is hot >.<

So, you're admitting that you're still attracted to men?. Come on, sure you're a "reformed homosexual"?

Reformed homosexual?

Sorry. I don't buy that one. You are a homosexual in denial. Or perhaps you are bisexual.

I don't take issue with your desire not to be homosexual. It's certain not easy having to swim against the stream through a whole lifetime.

What I would take issue is with people who tell you that you can 'cure'homosexuality.
Sure. You want to be 'cured'. So you go along with what persuasive people tell you. It's what you want. Life will be easier.

The sad point is that at some point your living a lie will catch up with you. I have no idea how. But I believe it will. And what we suppress has the habit of emerging with volcanic force. So all the years of denial will not help. Rather they will provide the pressure for the eventual eruption.

I sincerely feel sorry for you and your wife. You are on a most dangerous path, psychologically.

BTW, what you call 'filth' is normal life for many very decent men and women. Show some respect for them. The time may come, post eruption, when such respect will be the only comfort you have left in life.

"Tempt" into sin?. Listen, if you have an issue with this guy is "your" sin. And you're still homosexual or bisexual. Don't put the blame somewhere else. In fact, you're confirming the fact that you can't be "cured" from homosexuality and that IT'S NOT A CHOICE. I'm woman and straight. They can show me Pamela Anderson, Scarlett Johanson and other species who the men find attractive. I don't have to "fight" to supress an attraction I don't feel. I see somebody like Brad Pitt or George Cloney and, man, things change completely but, as I told you, it's my problem, not theirs for being attractive(don't you see that the same would happen if the guy were straight in a straight sitcom?)

If he's talking about Torchwood, Jack (who's bisexual or pansexual, not "gay" specifically -- though the actor is) isn't played by a "handsome young man" -- he's played by a fucking hot 40-year-old.

Add me to the list who thought, for one brief shining moment he was talking about Torchwood. Ironically, Jack from Torchwood was turned down from W&G because he was 'too straight'

It sounds like you are not as reformed as you think you are.
