Jezebel's Evil Sister
So, ancient people took bits of the religions of nearby cultures and added in bits of propaganda and other mythology to build their own new religions. Imagine that!

So the historicity of the Quran has been debunked, but those claims about historical problems with the Bible are just the work of atheists trying to hide from the truth?
9/29/2007 10:58:56 AM
Sotori si, you owe me a new irony meter.
9/29/2007 11:01:08 AM
Actually, Jesus may have been a Buddhist. Read up on Asoka and his missions. Think carefully now. Buh-bye.
9/29/2007 11:22:15 AM
Swing and a miss there.

"Hindus and Buddhists would believe in Jesus' resurrection - Hindu's just assimilated him into their religion and treat him as another one of their gods, and Buddists deny some of the facts and change it so that Jesus fits their view that he just reached enlightment."
Wow, that's pretty awesome considering those religions were formed before Christianity...

Get thee to a comparative religion class!
9/29/2007 2:32:48 PM
Are you telling me something like "I know it's true but I can't demonstrate it"?. Be honest and say "ok, I give it up. I have no idea what I'm talking about"
9/29/2007 3:55:34 PM
Soton si is simply pointing out the immense difference between Islam and Christianity. Oh. Wait ...
9/29/2007 5:24:57 PM
I can see why there are no responses to that piece of historically( sorry historicity) inaccurate piece of crap, because in the 9th century it got debunked and wasn't published because Smith and Morrow were Hindu and Jews . They were denying some of the facts.
God I love Fundi's
A reason to get up every morning
9/29/2007 6:34:59 PM
Sorry, soton si, I don't think you quite cleared the canyon wall with that leap.
9/29/2007 6:35:04 PM
The anti-irony goggles! They do nothing!
9/29/2007 7:10:46 PM
The truth of the Qu'ran and the Book of Mormon fall flat on their faces, when compared with history, especially the BoM.
And yet he doesn't talk about the BoM for the rest of the comment...
9/29/2007 9:16:09 PM
I refuse to believe something this ironic could possibly be honest. it must be a poe.
ps soton... you know that whole Moses thing? Probably taken from other traditions, among other stories in the Bible.
9/30/2007 12:03:30 PM

Haw haw haw ... those silly Mormons! They got started as a cult run by a guy who believed he had a direct line to God, and generated a whole new Testament as a result.
Not at ALL like regular Christianity, no no no no.
10/2/2007 2:21:54 PM
and found that it's just bits taken from other holy books of the area
Go look up the Roman legend of Mithra. Also, do you ever wonder why we use rabbits, eggs, and chicks as Easters signs? I bet you don't!

Buddha says: Prove it.
10/2/2007 3:24:38 PM
This is going to make your head explode, but Muslims see Jesus as a very, VERY important prophet (they even believe in his second coming), Mormons are Christians, and the story of Jesus shares lots of similarities to Mithras, a Zoroastrian deity who later got his own Roman cult.
10/2/2007 5:17:44 PM
First of all, Islam was born around the 7th century, WITH DATA. The founder can´t be born two centuries later. And do you understand that the same argument could be used against the Bible?
12/27/2009 4:50:39 AM
Same shit, different pile. Don't stand there with that smug look on your face and claim that your shit doesn't stink just as bad as all the others do.
