But the president of Iran said they don't HAVE gays there, so they couldn't possibly be oppressing them...LOL!

The only reason I oppress gays is because they are so oppressed.

This isn't really fundie, although it is rather harsh. I can't think of any rights that gays have which are denied to straights.
I do agree with his point about the "cult of victimhood" though. It seems as if one cannot make any sort of legitimate criticism of a minority group without being labeled a racist/sexist/homophobe/Islamophobe/etc. That's nothing but an ad hominem response, and it's bullshit.

Tell it to Matthew Shepperd or the guys who have been denied housing or a job for being gay. Moreover, could you care to explain which rights they have that straight people don't?. The irony, however, is the last sentence. Of course, they don't move to Iran or Saudi Arabia, because, in the good Biblical fashion, they kill them.

I say that the United States is NOT the MOST TOLERANT country concerning gays in the world, proven by the fact the laws in other countries have brought equality for all sexualities to the point where sexual orientation in those places is no longer an issue, and consequently there is no need in these countries for ignorant and uninformed tirades like yours.

Because only gays can join the army, legitimately marry, get certain jobs, walk down the street with the partner of choice without being looked at or be president.
Wait...
Although I know nothing of the way of the the Gay (I sya it like purely for the rhyme) in America- being a hetero Aussie.

I'd like to know what rights gay people have that I don't? If they're really good ones, I could claim to be gay just to get it on them, you know.

Well, someone lives under a rock and isn't exactly very wordly.
Does Canada bar same-sex couples from getting married? No... Are people in the US still fighting against homophones who want to super-ban gay marriage when it's not even legal in the first place? Yes. But it is better than it used to be, granted. And it should keep getting better until whether or not someone is attracted to people of the same gender isn't an issue.

The USA is probably the least tolerant developed nation toward homosexuality, but it would be accurate to say that they're vastly more tolerant than the likes of Iran or Saudi Arabia, yeah.
The fact that there are successful homosexuals in the USA does not mean that the USA favors homosexuality so much as there are a lot of very successful people here.
Also, I really need to get around to applying for my gay extra rights card. I keep kicking myself everytime I don't get that extra 15% off my meal at Shakey's.

Yeah, all those rights, I have the right not to marry the person I love in 49 of 50 states
I have the right to lose my job for being gay in over half of the states.
I have the right to be beaten up and arrested afterward
I have the right to be denied housing with my partner
I have the right as a teenager to be harassed mercilessly by not only fellow students but also by teachers and school administrators
And best of all I get to be harassed by fundie loonies who don't seem to understand that it's NOT A CHOICE
