Quote# 28603

A prayer:

Thank you for giving us the Origin of Species, Oh Darwin,
which tells us everything we need to know;

Thank you for protecting me from the need
to think things out for myself,

[Thank you for protecting me from the need]
To find things out for myself,

[Thank you for protecting me from the need]
to ask questions which
I don?t know the answers to.

Thank you for making things simple.

And above all, Oh Darwin,
thank you for my ignorance,
for ignorance is bliss.

I like the first verse, but everything after that is bullshit

So... this person is upset that Darwin tried to explain how the world works?

In other words, "science is bad."

Isn't it cute how fundies try to steal the arguments against religion and attempt to use them against science?

Guess they've used up all their old material and can't think up anything new.

Thank you for giving us the Origin of Species, Oh Darwin, which tells us everything we need to know;

No, that would be the OED.

As for the other stuff, that's YOUR camp.

No matter how hard you wish it to be so, nobody will ever do any thinking for you... oh, except organised religion. Silly me.

This could be a money making venture. More soon to come from ex_libres:
* "Cantor, Cantor put down that decanter"
* "Einstein blinds"
... and the ever popular
* "The day Newton stole Christmas"

Cynics Ltd?. I think this is a troll, bearing in mind the forum where it's posted.

It really is as if (some?) fundies are so caught up in the "single absolute unquestionable authority" mindset that they can't even imagine the possibility that it isn't universal. You'd think they'd start to recognize at some point that Darwin isn't accepted on authority, and that the parts of Darwin's ideas that conflict with evidence are not kept.

Because of course the Bible has loads of evidence backing it up... oh, wait.
Personally, I just love the fundie mindset that the Theory of Evolution has to explain everything, including the origins of the universe and life on Earth.
After all, Genesis explains everything, doesn't it?
Now, who is it again that is protected from the need to think for themselves?

Yeah it tells us everything we need to know about why there is so much diversity of life one Earth. It doesn't tell us how the Universe came about, why Earthquakes happen, where babies come from, or even how to live your life.

I read the post in context. He's actually mocking another poster who did the same, with the Bible, of course. I don't know if it makes him less fundy, but, honestly, this guy isn't even original.

"Mirror Mirror on the wall..."

You're condemning me for not thinking? Hah! That's amusing. I dumped Christianity because I thought it through and came to the conclusion that a God cannot exist, it's ridiculous.
