IF I was in the trib period with my children, I'd just asoon we all get it over with as quickly as possible and get off this earth to be with the LORD. So I don't think I'd have a problem with even having to watch...I'd just be reminding them and myself - we'll be in a better place in an instance, we'll be in a better place in an instance. And hopefully we wouldn't suffer too long. One swoosh at the neck and - Heaven! [cheering emoticon]

It's a stupid question to ask a fundie, especially a "Rapture Ready" fundie.
Hey, guys over at rapture ready, be careful that you do not predict the end of the world, because revelations has something to say about false prophets.
Methinks that if the beastly ones were trying to make you denounce Jesus by killing your child, they'd probably disembowel the kid slowly with a butter knife and in between the screams of agony explain to him/her that the reason they are suffering, is that you won't answer a silly question. All the while you'd be watching in horror thinking to yourself, "This isn't how it's supposed to be!". I wonder if you'd be so smug then? You think you will escape? Just as soon as you fundies express the ulitmate form of arrogance and push the button causing the end of the world (because it's written right?)you'll finally realize that you're gonna be right beside the rest of us until the bitter end. Ignorant denial in the name of faith is an ugly thing chicky pie.

If Jesus is the Son of God, he obviously could save your child if he wanted to. So the only way this question can make sense is if we assume someone else (presumably Satan) has offered to save your child in return for renouncing God; God, in turn, has refused to help you (for mysterious reasons of His own).
If we look to the Gospels, we see that Jesus repeatedly refused to accept Satan's rewards. So to be consistent with scripture, the answer should be "no - you would not renounce Jesus Christ in exchange for your child's life".
If Satan actually appears and you are in this situation, let's see how you choose. Otherwise, the whole exercise is a stupid "what if".
You better be willing to get your kids prepared to suffer then. They'll end up hating you and God before they die.

Okay, we know by now that rapture ready is loaded with totally insane fundies. why can't fstdt move on to more, let's say, reliable sources like focus on the family or the 700 club? I mean rapture ready is fun for some time, but they don't have a say and are insignificant outside of fstdt. who submits this nonsense anyway?

Wow. That is tragic. I pity you, and any children you may have. Truly, your love knows many bounds. The pious must get some value from the appearance.
What sadistic "god" would cause a parent the extreme pain and anguish that they must face for a "sacrifice"? It is horrible enough that human actions break apart families. It would be unforgivable for "god" to do it to satisfy his divine ego. Frankly, if heaven is to be with that god, then I wouldn't want to go there.
