Yes, because married people couldn't possibly develop HPV, just as TRUE CHRISTIANS ZAMG couldn't possible develop a disease. You're not DnD paladins, you get no immunity because of your faith or how moral you are. Diseases do not care if you're an upstanding member of your community or a serial killer. You're a host that they'll exploit to survive.

PS: I'm in the process of getting myself vaccinated for HPV at the moment. I have my second dose next month.

Following your logic, why are we taking drug addicts into hospital?, or take to hospital people who attempted suicide and survived?, why trying to "save" Terry Schiavo, if she starved herself to death?, why rescuing people who are in danger for doing extreme sports with no protection, or people who suffer an accident and didn't carry the seatbelt or helmet?. Besides, what if that virus is contracted through a rape or because one of the partner's adultery?. Again, where did you leave judge not least you'd be judged?

"I was thinking about this this afternoon."
You were thinking?
"This part of it may sound harsh to some, but I'll say it anyway . . . YES, we all hope and pray that our children wait to have sex until marriage . . . "
Hoping and praying don't seem harsh, they seem useless.
"and think that "if they don't, this vaccine will give them added protection" (kind of like the whole "don't have sex but if you do use a condom" approach)."
That, too, is not harsh, it makes good sense.
"My question is, what about allowing them to reap the consequences of making poor choices? In other words, suppose a child does stray from God's will and have sex and get HPV -- that would be the natural consequence of their behavior."
But only for HPV, or would you let your children die of AIDS or other STD, too?
Your right, THAT sounds harsh... and stupid... and ridiculous.
"How far should we go to keep them from "reaping what they sow"?"
Yeah, if your kids picked bad friends it would be just to let them be shot or stabbed to death by those bad friends.
How 'bout this, if your kids vote Republican, it's OK to let them die in a pointless, illegal war?

Some leftist hippie once said a bunch of stuff about forgiveness and not casting the first stone. But don't worry; modern Christians never pay attention to a word he said.

You can contract that diseases by other means than sexual intercourse.
But you fundies, being so obsessed with sex, gays and sin wouldn't realise that.

It's funny. One of the posters in the forum admits that she had contracted it after 25 years in a monogamous marriage. I think that person may well answer this narrow-minded bigot.

For the umpteenth time, abstinance doesn't work! The Bush administration found that out the hard way.
Either way, like everyone said, extra-marital sex isn't the only way to get the HPV, or any sexual diseases for that matter.

All right then, next time you're making supper (or your slave^H^H^H^H^H wife is making it for you) make sure to leave all the pot handles sticking over the edge of the stove. If your child knocks a pot of boiling water over himself and gets scalded, then he's just reaping the whirlwind, isn't he?

But what if their spouse unknowingly has HPV and they have sex even inside of marriage. You people seem to forget marriage is not the ultimate protection against STDs.

I still have a problem believing that after the creation of a vaccine that prevents a type of cancer people don't want it. Are they retarded or just stupid.

Medical Community: "Hey! Check this out! We found a cure for cancer!"
Morons: "Oh no! Keep it the hell away from *my* kids, they deserve cancer!" *run away screaming*
Yeah, it's technically a preventative for certain types rather than a cure, but this debate still blows my mind.

So you think dying of cancer is a suitable punishment for having sex without a marriage certificate? Sheesh, what would you do to someone who did something really bad, like jaywalking?
In the Bible, there is no specific prohibition against premarital sex in the OT or the Gospels. The only thing called for in the OT was a payment to the woman's father for taking her virginity, presumably because it reduced the money he'd get for her at marriage: "Exd 22:16 And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife. 17 If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins."
Other than that, there's a bunch of stuff about "fornication" from that sexually dysfunctional blow-hard, Paul, who didn't think people should have sex at all and made up stuff himself that was neither in the OT nor the Gospels. And even then, it may be a mistranslation of the original Greek ("porneia"). Virtually all translations besides the KJB translate it as "(sexual) immorality" or "lewdness".
Somebody who thinks premarital sex is so terrible that it warrants the death penalty has a screw loose.

Also, if a chaste, God-fearing virgin marries a guy who, unknown to her, screwed around at some point prior to the marriage, why should she get cancer?

I'm sorry, but if we go by creationist logic, here, God created a means to destroy a disease, without serious harm to the host. WHY THE HELL IS IT GOD'S WILL THAT THE DISEASE REMAIN?! Could it not be that God intends for these diseases to be cured?! Seriously girl, give your head a shake.
And NO ONE deserves to have an incurable disease inflicted on them. No one.
