[Compilation of two posts]

Hey, I live in Europe, man, you cannot imagine the madness that reign here.

"300" is the only pro-Western movie which supports the US war that we can see here since... 2000.

Imagine living in a near-communist area.

Bush is definitely Leonidas - a strong, courageous leader who's not affraid to stand for what's right. If you disagree, then you're as gay as the entire Europe and your friends, the nazislamists.

[...]

Kill the traitors, kill the Dems, crush the anti-war fanatics, destroy Saddamists, hang members of Al Qaeda and then, go home with the job finished. That's the lesson of "300".

Yeah, Bush is so much like Leonidas that he outsourced our port authority to the UAE.

Wrong, leonidas was fighting for FREEDOM and LIBERTY, not killing people for oil.

Plus in 300 the spartans were a defensive, not offensive force.

\"Nazislamists\"? I've got to start using that one...

So, Bush is basically telling his people \"TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL!\" Hooray for the strong Christian morality of the President!

Bush is definitely Leonidas(LOL) except Leonidas LED his men into battle (Bush hid out Vietnam in a rich kid's National Guard unit in Texas known as the \"Canadian Air Force\" to other units cause that's the only place safer from going to Vietnam), got killed in a war DEFENDING HIS HOMELAND (Bush is hiding behind his desk, invading a country NOT involved in 9/11 or and having NO WMD's for preawarded war-profits for his friends and contributors), was bisexual(Bush opposes any sexual alternate lifestyle), worshipped Olympian Gods (Bush claims to be a born again Christian and seems to have limited respect for other religions), listened to the Oracle at Delphi(Bush listens to scam artists like Rove and war-profiteers like Cheney) and Leonidas was man enough not to blame all his problems on everyone else(unlike whiny Bush and toadies{like you} blaming their mistakes on everyone else). Yeah they are about as much alike as you and someone who actually has a clue of what he's talking about!

...I've never seen a European so keen on making Bush look like a Spartan king, nor comment on how much \"madness\" reigns there.

Madness.

I live in Europe, translation, I don´t but I have prejudices to throw up. Now, jokes aside, the film is based on a comic, not in the real historical event. Second, the cases, logically, are not at all similar. The Persians, at the time, were the invading element and, logically, the Greeks were defending their territory. In this case, you guys have invaded a country and provoked there, not here, a political turmoil whose dimensions are hard to calculate. From that onward, all you say is bullshit and you have no understanding of politics.

Bush as Leonidis? I don't think the Spartan king lied to get his people to go to war.

well slight problem, leonidas was killed by several hundred arrows so he would only represent the ideal bush, not the real bush

Except for the minor fact that the Spartans were wiped out at Thermopylae. And that the movie \"300\" is based on a comic book. And that Persia invaded Greece rather like we invaded Iraq, so we're the bad guys in this scenario.

\"Wrong, leonidas was fighting for FREEDOM and LIBERTY, not killing people for oil.\"

Well, really Leonidas was fighting for the freedom to keep an entire race as slaves (who they declared war on every year, just to keep their troops sharp), and although the Persians where invading, they where one of the most tolerant empires in History,(who do you think it was the returned the Jews from the Babylonian exile?).

Tbh the similarity with Bush is closer than most people think, as Leonidas and the Spartans where dick heads to everyone, even their own children, compared to an empire which worked on tolerance and understanding.

I see him more as that persian guy with the whip.

Bush: \"Our misinformation and false intelligence about WMDs will blout out the sun!\"
