So what? You think the treatment of your grandfather and his parents were the right way to go? The people who ran them out of town WERE holding up God's standards, ya know.
When I was in school we were taught comprehensive sexual education; what happens when you get pregnant and how to protect yourself from unwanted pregnancies. The most safe way was of course abstinence, but as the teachers knew teenagers are going to have sex, we were also taught about condoms, the pill, safe periods, etc.
I can't remember a single kid in my school that became pregnant while at school. There probably were one or two, that I either didn't notice or have since forgotten.
You don't need a wedlock to be a family, ya know.
I bet more girls were left by their boyfriends after becoming pregnant back in those days, than there are today. The boys then could pretend they were not involved, or that many others were involved too. The girls didn't have that option...
