Yeah, one species found alive. What about all those other one who were doing really good millions of years ago before they got replaced by modern fish and died out?

So because it hasn't changed it's form in millions of years (see also: sharks) that makes C-14 dating wrong? I bet you couldn't name five other types of radiometric dating if your life depended on it.

Sharks have been around 400 million years. Does that make the Bible true?

Except that the examples they found recently are not exactly the same as the ones found from millions of years ago in the fossil record. Kind of puts a cramp in your post, right?

And the fossil ones weren't dated using radiocarbon techniques either. They're about a thousand times too old for that.

So it's still alive. Whoop-de-doo.
Crocodiles and alligators are still alive and they've been around for hundreds of millions of years.

OK, I'll believe the Bible is THE truth, but only on the strength of your say-so.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just because some species exists today, does not mean it did not exist millions of years ago. In this case, it means that the deep ocean environment hasn't changed significantly enough for the coelocanth to benefit from much adaptation.

There are SO many holes in the \"fact\" that the earth is millions of years old it's ridiculous...the Bible is THE Truth...Believe it.
So when you talk about the Bible, then all of a sudden holes don't matter anymore?

Yeah, and we can probably find fossils that look like cockroaches 400 million years old. So what? If we find that Tutankhamen is 3,330 years old, does that mean the dating is wrong because there are are still Egyptians alive today? Use some common sense, for God's sake! Do you think God wants you to be a moron?
BTW, you can't \"carbon date\" fossils from millions of years ago. Carbon dating is only good back to about 60,000 years ago. If you can't get a simple thing like that right, why should anyone believe the rest of your nonsense?

You do realize that, just because there are still living specimins, that doesn't negate anything, right? They date ancient human remains, too, and we're still around. So, sorry, but you still lose.

Okay, I'll believe it, but which bit. It's so contradictory I'm not sure WHICH part to believe.

Similarly, the Bible can't have been written ~2000 years ago, since I have one here printed as late as 2006. It's logical. Believe it.

1. Coelocanth is the name of an Order of fish, not a species.
2. Carbon dating is not used on anything older than about 50,000 yrs and certainly not millions of years old.

You cannot carbon date million year old fossils.
And the bible is a book of storys.

Some fish which, evidently has evolved very little over a long period of time, has been found in the ocean. Therefore, the Bible is completely accurate! Wow, the leaps of logic make my hamstrings ache.

But, they don't still live on the Earth today. No fish with the exact make up of that fossil is alive right now, but there are fish which are close enough to be in the same order.
