This reminds me of my son when he was about 5 years old. He would come up with a really funny joke, have me laughing at it, then ask me -- in all seriousness -- why it was funny. He could create a joke, yet could not quite understand why it was funny.
This person describes an example of natural selection in action perfectly, yet asks what in the world natural selection has to do with it -- and in this case, I'll bet the person is well past 5 years old. Bizarre.

Because, if you kill cubs and have some of your own, you have more cubs. Natural selection favors high rates of reproduction.

My mouth literally dropped open. How do you not understand something that you just described with your own words?

Could someone describe by strickly the means of natural selection how a lion could acquire this trait?"
Why? You just did it yourself.

Hey, I like ice-cream because it's creamy and sweet, not to mention that it's refreshing on a hot day. But, I'm not exactly sure why I like it so much, could someone explain this to me?
