We don't know exactly what causes consciousness so for you to claim you know something even the most brilliant scientific minds can't figure out is ludicrous

That energy is consumed by the billions of bacteria who decompose your body when you die.

Your thoughts don't have energy, you moron. They don't need to \"go\" anywhere.
But, to be fair, at least she didn't say that this proves your soul goes up to Heaven.

Where does the energy of your thoughts go? It cannot just disappear in a snap.
In a word, dissipation.

\"Energy of your thoughts?\" Has anyone ever verified that a \"thought\" is a form of \"energy?\" I suppose if you define a \"thought\" as electrical impulses in the brain, then it might be energy, but then that denies the existence of a \"soul\" by reducing identity to mere electrical pathings in the brain.

Nice try, but as they say, \"a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.\" When someone dies, the energy of those electrochemical impulses stops being produced, and different processes begin -- namely, decay.

\"For example, in physics, one of the first things you learn is that energy never, ever ceases to exist. Energy can only be transformed. Well...in a way, this supports the theory that when human beings die, they cannot cease to exist. Where does the energy go?\"
No, it doesn't support that assertion at all. By that \"logic\" whenever you burn a log, it goes to heaven.
\"The body is physically failing, but the soul survives until the last second of life (and is sometimes brought back after a few minutes through modern medicine).\"
Please prove that souls exists and that humans have them.
\"Where does the energy of your thoughts go? It cannot just disappear in a snap.\"
The tiny amount of energy which might represent a persons thoughts simply stops being created and the risidual must disipate as a minute amount of heat, in a snap. It must be the same with every other thought one has during one's lifetime. Does that mean everytime one stops thinking a particular thought a little bit of one's soul goes to heaven?
\"That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard.\"

Um, heat? And unless the heat rising from your stove burner started talking to you one morning...
Please, actually take physics before you talk about it on the internet.

Where does the energy go?
Here is the biggest leap Keiko has made. First she says that energy is always transformed and then asks where that energy goes?
IT IS TRANSFORMED, you idiot! Into what? - you ask. Mechanical force like sound and heat, electromagnetic radiation like beta particles. Does it matter? The point here is that the energetic state that one formed out consciousness has transformed into something else. It is NOT necessary for it to go to a magical La La Land.

So in one post she's gone from denying all the laws of physics, to trying to argue them in strawmen.
Being that dead people stop eating, large amounts of their daily energy intake ceases thank fuck, otherwise they'd have significant difficulty obtaining the 400+ calories required to maintain their brain and thoughts.

Just for the record, even if your definition of energy is exact, you confuse it with metaphores. One, soul is a very abstract concept, and totally Classical Christian one. So, energy can´t relate at all. Talking about resurrection, well, modern science doesn´t \"resurrect\" you, ONLY HELPS YOU TO RECOVER. And energy of thoughts?. Thoughts per se are chemical processes, so the very physicallity of them disappears. Satisfied?

Whoever said it disappears? The energy in your body is made up of chemicals and ions anyway, which during composition is digested into nutrients that flow back into the Circle of Life.

Uh huh, okay, you see, the problem is that when you say \"energy,\" you're not talking about energy; you're talking about mystical supernatural stuff that supposedly makes up the consciousness.

I agree. But to then make the claim that the same energy is sent to some garden of delights or burning pit of fire (depending upon what you did in life or who you worshiped) is equally inane. It would be better to say that the energy becomes part of the universe.
