Mormon = Believes in God, bases much of his belief on the Bible, and considers himself Christian.

Atheist = Does NOT believe in God (thus, by extension, does not accept the Bible or Christ as legitimate, nor the foundational documents or doctrines of any other religion either). This is the SOLE point that describes an atheist and is all that is needed to establish the fact.

[sarcasm]So, yeah, I can see how you might mix them up.[/sarcasm]
