I'd accept the existance of god if there was a reason to believe in teh existance of a god. Since their isn't, why are you in denial about the FSM?

If you mean this to be a 'do unto others' reference, Atheists DO wish that they were treated half as good as religions. We don't get fancy holidays, tax-write offs, time off from work or any of that. We just want to be given the same respect that you expect. If you think you guys are persecuted over 'merry x-mas', try telling someone that you are an atheist. You want dirty looks, sneers and pity, that's your route. I would be perfectly happy never having to discuss religion or the lack thereof EVER unless I wanted to, but that's not how it works in America.

I was about to post how puzzling this is, but I clicked on the link and saw... it is a POLL!
\"Because Atheists don’t have evidence that Jesus Exist\" and \"Because there is no Evidence that Santa Exist\" are winning, probably because most of those answering the poll are atheists. A few fundies have gone for the \"don't want to be virtous/don't want the meek to inherit the earth\" options.
This does not strike me as appropiate for FSTDT, but if we keep it some explanation must be added to the post because like this, it is just baffling.

Your list of "becauses" fails whether it is interpreted as sarcastic (in which case we are implied to actually follow the golden rule and wish to live a "virtuous life"...accurate but an unexpected admission) or serious (in which case we are TWICE given credit for not following an incorrect religion, which is a nice change of pace!).
