I have no problem with homosexuality. I have a problem with homosexual acts. As I would with acts of other, what I would consider to be, acts outside of traditional heterosexual relationships. And that includes a variety of different acts, not just homosexual. I have nothing, absolutely nothing against anyone who's homosexual. If that's their orientation, then I accept that. And I have no problem with someone who has other orientations. The question is, do you act upon those orientations? So it's not the person, it's the person's actions. And you have to separate the person from their actions.

"But officer, I wasn't speeding, my CAR was!"
You cannot separate a man from his actions, a man is defined by his deeds.
Nice try, EX-senator. Really, it is. But that is NOT tolerance; it is just the opposite, a demand that gays "go back into the closet where they belong," denying their true nature just because of your own needless and pointless squeamishness over relationships that have nothing at all to do with you.
The disingenuousness of your remarks is almost as offensive as Haggard's abject hypocrisy. At least those who spout straightforward hate of homosexuals are being honest about their intolerance; you, on the other hand, are not.

Stop obsessing about what other people are doing in the privacy of their own homes. It does not concern you in the slightest. Plus, they are just doing someting milions of straight couples also do; pleasuring each other through fellatio/cunnilingus and anal sex. Hey, it was you who said separate the action from the person. The only thing different with homosexual sex is that the two persons involved are of the same sex, both females or both males. The act itself is done by normal straight people, too.
Oh yes, let's all go for a society where people are allowed to SAY that their gay, just not allowed to have sex with someone of their gender.
"I'm gay but I'm not a practising homosexual - I just flick cocks and run away squealing".
Lots of heterosexuals have anal sex. Lots of heterosexuals have oral sex. It is nothing specifically homosexual about these techniques.
And, it's none of your business what people do in the privacy of their own bedrooms.
What is it with these "actions" that bothers you so? Why this fixation on other people's sex habits?
A person is the sum of his or her thoughts, feelings and actions.
Now...kindly tell me what the actions of two consenting adults within the privacy of their bedrooms have to do with you at all, until they invite you. Hell, even outside the bedroom, so long as it conforms to common decency, and harms no one (Aside from fundies freaking out seeing two men holding hands) what is the issue?
I have no problem with Rick's beliefs...
...I just have a problem with him expressing those beliefs through words and actions.
You have to separate the person from the action.
As long as it is consensual, whats going on between other people is NONE OF YOUR F****** BUSINESS!
I don't peek in your bedroom, my dear Mr. Santorum, and harrass you with "I have a problem with what you are doing with your wife", because thats none of my business. So keep your dirty fingers out of other peoples' private matters, okay?
"I have no problem with homosexuality"
Please try to keep your blatant lies until the third sentence, you immoral hack.
This nauseating unctuousness leaves a foul taste in my mouth. At least Fred Phelps has the balls to say he hates gay people. You have to hide your hate behind pretty yet dishonest spin.
That's right Rick. I am saying that Fred Phelps is better than you are.
I actually don't find the concept dishonest. After all, I would say the same thing about paedophilia. I don't hate paedophiles, just paedophilic acts. It's not their fault they were born with those desires, but it is their fault if they act on it, as the act is immoral.
I can't therefore find it dishonest for Rick to say the same thing about homosexuals, since he finds homosexual sex to be an immoral act.
Of course, he's a complete bigoted twat for thinking that, and thankfully it is legal to have sex with someone of the same gender and it is illegal to have sex with someone who is under age, for very obvious reasons.
But there's nothing dishonest about his position.
Confused?
