It's entirely possible to love Jesus without believing that he was a deity.
I don't see the contradiction.

It's quite possible to follow the teaching of Jesus on stuff like helping the poor without believing in God. No fundie would claim to be agnostic. Not fundie at all.

This is unusual. I'm a little curious as to why it's here, because this isn't really fundie.

Well, I mean. Atheists for Jesus and everything. Dawkins is into it.

Not at all. Jesus was a really nice guy. You don't have to be Christian to appreciate it.

One can love Jesus, admire him, even believe that he was "The Son of God" and still not KNOW that he was God or even that there is a God.
Not fundie at all.

I actually believe this to be the "Christianity is not a religion" variety of fundietude.

Well, no, but given how brainwashed Christians are against the faithless and questioning, one can see how that might be thought of as strange. Truth is, Christianity and agnosticism are quite compatible -- it's called fideism. Martin Gardner coined the term and defined it as "I believe because it comforts me."

Not weird at all. Jesus hated hypocrisy and selfishness. He scorned elaborate rules to 'prove' one's purity and stressed that love was the proof of godliness. He encouraged his followers to feed the hungry, clothe the naked and comfort the afflicted. Not once did Jesus encourage his followers to seize political power and force people to worship in one particular way.
Doesn't sound like the Jesus the fundamentalists promote, does it?

Yeah, not weird at all. I'm an Agnostic as well, but I certainly wouldn't mind if it turned out that Christianity had been correct. Or any religion, in fact. Better than nonexistence. And yeah, there's nothing wrong with "Hey, guys, it'd be TOTALLY AWESOME if you could, like, hate each other a LITTLE less, m'kay?"

Yes. You love him, yet you doubt his existence? Are you sure of your own existence, Livin4Christ?
