Quote# 142424

You know I just read all of the comments that were made toward Ron and the level of stupidity and ingorance totally perplexes me.

Every one keeps saying about how we discriminate against this group and that group. Time to set the record strait you idiots.

Lets start with gays since you are all so feminine and over sensative. When I was a scout there was a young man who was a homosexual and just for the record he was one of the best guys in the troop to talk to and hang out with.

Now lets talk about god. I don't know how many of you have ever had to write a date on a piece of paper or some other document but everytime you do you acknowledge the existance of god. After all we live in 2008 A.D. (For all you uneducated morons out there, A.D. stands for "After death." To make it a little more clear we are talking about the death of Jesus Christ.) Oh, and by the way, we have never turned anyone away who doesn't believe in god.

Now we are gonna talk about women.......... Once more to all of you uneducated loud mouth assholes out there we have a little thing in the Boy Scout organization called an Explorer Post. Now I'm gonna give you a chance to use your brains for the first time in a long time. Who do you think can join an Explorer Post............times up and I doubt you guessed that women can join the Explorer Post.

As for the separation of church and state....I'll bet not one of you god damned morons can show me anywhere in the Constitution of the United States where it says there is any kind of separation between church and state. Good luck dumb asses.

Now before you go shooting that hole under your nose that you stuff with GOD only knows what you might want to do a little bit of research. It's amazing how easy it is to put all you fucking idiots in your place with just a little bit of research.

Who the hell actually writes the date with A.D. anymore?
Besides, have you ever heard of "convention"? You have to put the beginning of the year count somewhere - why not use the one that has been already established in a very large part of the world?
Are the days of the week proof of the Germanic pantheon? Do the use of the month names January, March and June prove the Roman gods as real?

(For all you uneducated morons out there, A.D. stands for "After death." To make it a little more clear we are talking about the death of Jesus Christ.)

The uneducated moron is you. AD stands for Anno Domini, "in the year of the Lord", and refers to Jesu birth, not death and alleged resurrection. It is universally agreed that Jesus was not actually born that year anyways. Besides, the Bible gives two non-overlapping timeframes for Jesu birth - Herodes had been dead for years when Quirinius became governor of Syria.

Almost making his argument for him, while telling dumbass just how fucking stupid he is. A.D. does not stand for After Death, it stands for [i]Anno Domini[/i}, literally Year of Our Lord in Latin. However, it became the standard convention because in Europe the Roman Catholic Church became the dominant political force, and even the non-Roman Catholic Orthodox churches adopted this convention, and all the various governments and trading guilds, simply because it was a convenient way to keep track of days and years across several nations, having already been established in the majority.

The 1st Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This means, get this . . . the US government and its entities are not allowed to grant access to one religion . . . unless they grant access to all religions. Another point of contention, the Satanic Temple trying to get clubs into schools to teach various positive character values, and social skills. They only target schools that have a Good News Club, or something similar . . . where Christian churches are coming into the school to indoctrinate kids into Christianity. The Satanic Temple insists that since Christian churches are granted this access, so should other religions. They have even stated they would stop doing this entirely if there were no religious clubs allowed in schools at all . . . they are only doing this to prove the government agency's bias toward Christianity, and doing it pretty damn well. In the case being complained about in the original quote, that was even specifically stated, that the Boy Scouts of America cannot be allowed to recruit in the schools of that district unless the district allowed everyone else in to recruit as well. So, if the BSA can recruit, can also the Satanic Temple?

There was also no mention in the original quote about girls at all, so I don't what the fuck the whole deal with the Explorer Post is all about.

A.D. stands for "After death."

Made me think of one of the Norwegian jokes about Lada cars:

1: "You know what 'Lada' stands for?"

2: "No."

1: "Laget Av Diverse Avfall" (Made From Various Waste)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Right!

And R.I.P. doesn't stand for "requiescat in pace", it stands for "rapture in preparation", what else?

>A.D. = Anno Domini

>Separation of Church and State = Thomas Jefferson referring to the Establishment Clause of the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution: which he helped to create, so who better to point out that fact

Now before some... thing goes shooting the mouth in it's gluteal region about things it clearly knows less than fuck all about, it should Do The Research before it proves to everyone else here in FSTDT who has, that it clearly hasn't.

...oh, and C.E. It sets the record straight: the latter word referring to that which - via your homophobia which proves you're a Closet Case - you aren't, OP.

Citizen Justin

'Anno Domini' as the others said. Jesus lived about 33 years, right? So if it was BC before he was born and AD after he died, what about the intervening 33 years? Where do the dates of Augustus and Tiberius fit in to that?

BCE and CE are only disrespectful to Christians if you think they are. Some Christian scholars reckon he was born in 6 BCE. The sentence "Jesus was born six years before Christ" doesn't make any sense.

2/14/2019 3:39:03 AM

Chloe

Jesus didn't die at 1 years old. A.D. is Latin for something.

For you the uneducated moron, A.D. means Anno domini latin for year of our lord.

Here is proof that islam is the real religion. The year is 1439:

"....I'll bet not one of you god damned morons can show me anywhere in the Constitution of the United States where it says there is any kind of separation between church and state."

I'll bet you're a god damned moron who can't answer these questions:
What law was the 1st amendment based on?

Who wrote that law?

Where did the phrase separation of church and state come from?

You might want to do a little bit of research. It's amazing how easy it is to put all you fucking fundie idiots in your place with just a little bit of research.

"Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church & State."

- Thomas Jefferson

Wow. After Death, huh? Brilliant.

And, uh, as far as 'in the constitution,' since you're saying WE are the uneducated morons, you're aware that Supreme Court Decisions are part of the Constitution, right? They don't decide guilt/innocence at that level, they provide amplifying information about how the constitution applies to situations not specifically laid out in the original document.

That's why they read you your 'Miranda rights.' They're constitutional rights, but they're spelled out because of the Miranda court case.

So, now that's cleared up, I'm gonna go laugh about After Death a bit more. An easy mistake to make, but when you pretend to be the only one with a clue, it's a stupid, stupid, stupid mistake.

No AD stands for After Dinosaurs.

Calls other people uneducated morons, doesn't know what AD stands for.

Everyone here said what I was going to say.

I'll add that Feminine & Sensitive = Power & Strength! The Feminine Principle is called SHAKTI and it's the power behind all things.

Masculine & Feminine are 100% EQUAL but Masculine cannot function without Feminine.

....just some Dharmic-based metaphysics, mind you....

....and Sensitivity is True Strength....as is EMPATHY, LOVE & COMPASSION.

2/14/2019 8:36:46 AM

Skide

Anno Domini, establishment clause, all that shit already said and repeated good couple of times. Yes, you definitely put us all in our place, which would be a good couple levels above yours :D

2/14/2019 8:57:46 AM

Swede

You have a record strait?

Calm down, dearie, and turn on your spell-checker.

I'm a woman and have every right to be feminine. (And so does ever man who so wishes, of course.)

We're not the uneducated morons, dearie. Look in the mirror...

Jesus was probably born either a couple of years BC or a couple of years AD, if he existed at all, judging by the tax-audit and the ruler. Year 0 doesn't exist.

What in the words "explorer" and "post" indicates that it's for women?
This is what I think of when I hear the word Explorer:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

It's very hard to find, really. It's in the First Amendment...

Besides, not all here are American. We have different laws in other countries. We had a state church in Sweden until 2000 AD.

The only one who's been put in his place is you, dearie. Go play with the other kids now, the grown-ups are talking here.

The article where Anonymous posted begins, "At Tuesday's school board..." which clearly shows that the god Tiw (also a war god) exists. And if Tiw exists then the entire Norse pantheon must be real.

Mr Blur

A.D. stands for "After death."

er, Poe or an uneducated moron.

2/14/2019 12:12:01 PM

Why would we commemorate the death of someone who supposedly offered eternal life?

Assuming you were anywhere close to being correct in this bullshit, wouldn't it make more sense to list years since his resurrection? AR?

Anyone can die on a cross, but coming back after, that's something someone would have noticed. And likely stabbed him through the heart and cut off his head to be certain, but years After Resurrection would make much more sense. Esp. if he came back after the second execution. After Beheading (AB), or After Staking (AS)...

After Tying Him To An Anchor and Dropping HIm At Sea (ACO)(after cement overshoes).

Ah, well. You're wrong, wrong, wrong, no matter what, but at least you could try to think these things through.

2/14/2019 12:29:08 PM

"When I was a scout there was a young man..."

Oh, you have a story. When this young man grew up was he accepted as a pack leader? Den mother? Did the troop officially acknowledge his homosexuality?

"... everytime you do you acknowledge the existance of god."

No, we acknowledge the belief in god. Same as January acknowledges a belief in Janus, Wednesday a belief in Wotan (Odin), Easter acknowledges a belief in Cadbury...

And by the way, one of the requirements in scouts is knowledge of their belief system. It doesn't allow you to be an atheist and get the badge.

"Who do you think can join an Explorer Post............times up and I doubt you guessed that women can join the Explorer Post."

So, not fully boy scouts, but they can be adjutants? That's not equal, dude.

"... anywhere in the Constitution of the United States where it says there is any kind of separation between church and state."

No religious tests for government office, no establishment of religion, start there.

"It's amazing how easy it is to put all you fucking idiots in your place with just a little bit of research."
Easy, maybe, accurate? Only in your hollow little mind, fuckhead.

2/14/2019 1:13:38 PM

Thinking Allowed

After all we live in 2008 A.D. (For all you uneducated morons out there, A.D. stands for "After death."

Before using the current C.E., let's have a lesson on what A.D. really stands for.

Today the international standard is to designate years based on a traditional reckoning of the year Jesus was born — the “A.D.” and "B.C." system. "A.D." stands for anno domini, Latin for “in the year of the lord,” and refers specifically to the birth of Jesus Christ. "B.C." stands for "before Christ."

Who is the uneducated now?

2/14/2019 5:08:51 PM

Titania

That's Anno Domini, although some prefer you to write C.E, in 2019 C.E. Oh, and the First Amendment, of which Section 116 in our Constitution is almost the same.

Now, you might want to do a little bit of research...Professor Google is your friend.

2/17/2019 6:10:31 PM

I only wrote AD in history papers and sometimes not even then. Also Anno Domini. My little bit of research suggests you're wrong
