See, this is why you shouldn't trust interpretations of specific words in a text that has been through multiple translations and not proofread by the original authors. Translation is rarely a perfect process, especially in such a vague text which relies on metaphor and parables, as every translator will inevitably be inclined to use their own interpretation of them.

There were times (and, I think there is still a Jewish tradition) when once a woman got married she was required to cut her hair short as a way of showing fidelity to her husband.

Sometimes a veil is just a veil. Shaven heads were a form of shame, that's why the passage reads the way it does. It is basically saying that you shame yourself if you pray without your head covered.

Do angels really need to go to church? (Presuming that they exist.) Did Jesus' hairstyle drive his Father crazy? My wife and I both wear buzz cuts huw many angels can we keep out of church if I'm pagan and she's Jewish? Neither of us have husbands.
