The Department of Psychology, University of Georgia did an interesting study:

They took a group of exclusively straight men and divided them into two groups, the one group who tested high on a homophobia scale, and the others who expressed little or no homophobia. They then showed each subject three videos in random order... one heterosexual porn, one lesbian porn, and one gay porn... while the test subject wore a small measurement device to record the degree of erectile response to each video.

The two test groups had equal erectile response to the straight porn and equal responses to the lesbian porn. After viewing the videos, both groups wrote accurate self reports of their degree of erection response to each video.

The interesting item is that 80% of homophobes... ***80%***... had an erectile response to the gay video whereas only 33% of non-homophobes had any erectile response to the gay video.

Almost all homophobes are aroused by homosexual scenes, while few non-homophobes are. It is exactly that arousal response that causes the strong negative reaction and emotional investment in the subject. Non-homophobes generally have no response to homosexual scenes, are not threatened by them, and just plain have no reason to care or get angry.

And here's the really funny part... while non-homophobes accurately reported their degree of arousal (or non-arousal) during the gay video, the homophobes were generally self deluded and denied or under reported their erectile response to the gay video.

If you suggest to a confident non-homophobe straight he might be gay, he will generaly reject that incorrect assertion with little emotional investment in that answer. The more intense someone's emotional investment in that denial, the more certainly that it hit a genuine raw nerve.

Some posts here attack Big Iron for calling gays pedophiles, be look again... he does not actually say that. he calls them \"predators\". And I think it's pretty clear that his reason for seeing them as predators is that his own gay arousal response makes him feel like PREY, he feels personally vulnerable and personally threatended by the mere presense of gays.

One of the things I would have thought that you would have figured out by now is that when you are involved in a debate with Atheists you really need to supply reasonable proof. Most of us quite like the basic principles of science and require reasoned proof of anything before we accept it as probable fact.
