Because Romans and Saudis (both being pretty much the only nations that crucified) are the regimes that Liberal Democrats want. Perhaps however, with the increasing influence of the Alternative and Secular Right in the Republican party, he may actually be forced to move out and complain how Republicans have embraced the anti-Christ he warned against, all the while showing raving support for Dixiecrats along the way.
So, tell me, do the "Christian values of the Republican Party" include grabbing women by the genitals whenever you want? If the Republican Party represents "Christian values" it's time to end Christianity.

Nope. Just as the party designations have changed from democrat to republican over the last half century, so has the label "Christian". The republicans don't have Christian values; the Christians (at least in your neck of the woods) have adopted republican values, and are much the worse for it. You've corrupted what christianity used to be, and have thus shown it in its worst possible light, as a group united by hate rather than by love. I know, I know, "not all Christians", but you own the twisted values of a subgroup that deserves to be destroyed.

Seeing as how those Republican "Christian values" are greed, intolerance, inhumanity, patriarchy, and theocracy, I say good for the Democratic Party.
Time to play "Conservative Christian or Ancient Roman Politician!"
1: Insisted on a state religion, and mandatory adherence to such.
2: Funded an unnecessarily large military, primarily for the purposes of imperialism & bravado.
3: Had multiple political leaders who regularly engaged in adultery & soliciting prostitutes (sometimes young males) while married.
4: Regularly passed laws and/or executed punishments for any legal residents who stood out or were too different from the homogeny.
5: Treated people of other ethnicities & skintones as invaders & intruders, even when those people had been in the land for generations.
If you said "both" to all of these, you win!
