No. There seems to be something you guys keep getting wrong. People feel a natural affinity towards their race. It's not like they walk around with their chin out constantly thinking about it. It's more like an ancestral pride you feel towards your family or homeland. It's something that comes naturally with identifying with something. It's not that big a deal or a source of personal ego.
It's loyalty more than anything. I'd rather not have that identity if it was possible. Life would be easier. But the loyalty I feel towards my family is bigger than myself, and that loyalty extends out towards outer groups to lesser and lesser degrees to the point where it reaches humanity as a whole even. It's not what you think it is. People who feel no loyalty or identity towards anything are the real defectives.
