How To Know If You Are An SJW

Many people seem confused. SJWs are a type of Leftist that tries to weaken the opposition. They are a lot like the hippies in the 1960s or other groups that attempt to take over the culture by attention whoring.

Leftism is the belief in equality. If you believe in equality, you are a Leftist. Everyone else is more concerned with how things actually work instead of this fond pacifistic vision of all of us sitting around, holding hands and singing Kumbaya.

The purpose of SJWs is to use guilt to force people to accept political correctness. You are an SJW if:

* You believe in equality.
* You think all people are good or at least, all are important.
* You use the term "skin color" to mean race.
* You think diversity can work.
* You believe that "gender" is distinct from physical sex.
* You want world peace.
* You think colonialism was a bad thing.
* You think "true Communism has never been tried."
* You want people punished for discriminating against others.
* You think everyone should go to college.
* You are really concerned that democracy might be fading.

If you are an SJW, it is time for you to go somewhere else. Your safe space conflicts with our need to be free from the mental conditioning you people advance. It is not personal, but we need different societies, and we need different subs.

If you want a free speech zone to talk about right/Left issues, try /r/antifa.

Rightism is the belief in elitism. Everyone else is more concerned with spreading the wealth a bit more equal, instead of letting the top 0,1 percent hoard it all.

Why? Can't YOU go somewhere else? Our need to make sure that as many people as possible have as good a life as possible conflicts with your safe hate space. It's not personal, you need a cave of your own, or something.

Okay DiR (like GIR, but dimmer), what if I believe some of those things, but not others? Where does that put me in your little scale?

I think of myself as a realist and a pragmatist, and to a degree a cynic and skeptic, although not a pessimist by any means. I believe that, realistically, pragmatically, equality and a society on an even keel allow us to make best use of our resources against outside threats, be they military, political, social, or even a Malthusian crisis of the sort people will tell you the world is in today. Discrimination and hate are wasteful and inefficient. They are unbecoming of a society that is trying to prosper.

To that end, I would agree with some of your statements. I do support freedom and equality (where they conflict, as they do, I won't say I'm an ardent supporter of either; I prefer moderation). I think that diversity is limited only by the errant thoughts of those within it. I think that everyone should be well-educated (whether that means through college, or in a less formal setting). I don't hold to punishing people willy-nilly for "discrimination" - it being a hard thing to prove - but I recognize the efficacy of some punishment as a preventive measure.

But that doesn't mean that I have to toe the party line about all things. I think communism is at best dangerously misguided and blind to human failings; at worst, I think it's a deliberate manipulation of the powerless by those in power. I wouldn't mind world peace, but I would never ask for world peace at the cost of accepting injustice in that world (indeed I would support more intervention than the US seems inclined to do, if only we would be smarter about it). I don't care for whatever difference you want to pretend there is between "skin color" and "race" (probably genetic, because you either don't know or don't care that genetic studies have repeatedly debunked the concept of strong racial drift), firstly because frankly I don't care about anyone's race, and secondly because the fun of ethnic groupings is ever so much more complicated than that. (Remember when people discriminated against the Irish? Exactly.) As far as gender - you won't have any more luck changing the grammatical construct than people did getting other people to stop ending sentences with prepositions, and I think both "sides" put too much weight on sex and gender as opposed to someone's actual personality. The proper response to "I'm a man and I like womanly things" is not "don't, you're a man and you're not allowed to" or "then you're a woman stuck in a man's body", it's "okay". It's really that simple.

TL;DR: There are more than two kinds of people in the world. It's okay though, you can keep your stupid subreddit; nobody else wants it.
