I'm going to say that I don't think dinosaurs were birds, unless you also say that mammals are reptiles. The separation between theropods and birds goes nearly as far back as the separation between synapsids and mammals, and synapsids are generally considered to be reptiles.

You fail cladistics forever.
"Reptils" are a polyphylum and obsolete. Mammals are synapsids, whereas all recent "reptiles" and birds are parts of the Sauropsida - the two main branches of the Amniota that have been separate for over 300 Ma. Birds are firmly established to be within Therapoda - see "dinobirds". Moreover, one of the most prominent traditional synapomorphies of birds, feathers, have not only be discovered to be omnipresent among the maniraptors, but are now thought to be a synplesiomorphy of all dinosaurs - indeed, all "scales" known from dinosaurs, appear to be actual derivates of feathers instead of "reptilian" scales, specifically the reticula found on the underside of a bird's foot.

@OP:
The first discovered dinobird was Made In Germany.

A lot of American tech is, or Japan or Sweden or Germany if you're lucky.
Hot Tub circuit boards and salt cells and GE lights for pools are made in California and Florida, they're all shit. I really can't wait to get out of the industry, sure it's a living but I have no faith in product anymore.
Confused?
