Concerning the recently-passed bill that allows Idaho parents to deny children life-saving medical care
Committee Chairman Jeff Siddoway, R-Terreton, who was the tiebreaking vote to move the bill on to the full Senate, gave a passionate description of his own faith.
“I certainly believe in divinity and I think that our Lord Jesus Christ can intervene,” he said. “I’m sure many in this room have witnessed miracles. Those children that have gone on, they’re probably where we’re all trying to get. They’re there. They’ve got it made. If we can just live a righteous life, one day we’ll be with them again. But I think this bill comes as close as we can come right now in trying to intervene.”

So it's fine with you if they live, and it's fine with you if they die. A civilized society, though, sees each preventable death of a child as a failure of that society to protect the must vulnerable. You will be judged harshly.
"What you have done to the least of these, you have done to me."
Also, fuck you fuck you fuckyoufuckyoufuckyou.
You hypocritical son of a bitch. You rail against women having abortions, but will let them let their children suffer long, agonizing deaths. FUCK YOU.
There's a Christian joke about a guy sitting on a roof during a flood, waiting for God to save him. He refuses aid from a boat, a raft, and a helicopter, and dies. He asks God why he didn't save him, and God replies "I tried! I sent a boat, a raft, and a helicopter!"
(Disclaimer: I'm repeating the joke from memory so the exact things the guy rejected may be wrong)
These people are like the guy sitting on the roof, waiting for God to save their children, while refusing to save their children.
I'd facepalm, but I'd rather smack my palms into their faces.
If this isn't evil, I don't want to know what is. 'Pro-life', my ass. Women can't have full rights to their own child that they're carrying around, yet you're perfectly fine with killing living children. George Carlin's comments on this hypocritical bullshit are dead-on.
Can children also deny their elderly parents life-saving medical care? Or is it only minors that are to be seen as property to neglect at will?
Why don't God/Allah/YHWH intervene in Sub-Saharan Africa right now? Children are starving to death by the thousands, and now adults are beginning to die too. There is almost no water, so nothing can grow, and the cattle have mostly already died.
The children who die of curable diseases have got it made? But embryos have a right to life, right? Women and children are only of importance as they relate to real people (i.e. white men), right?
"If you're preborn, you're fine; if you're preschool, you're fucked."
(Re. God intervening... I've seen children on TV who have just been rescued from Daesh-territories. They have lived for months, maybe years, under Daesh terror, and the children scream at the camera "God does not tolerate this, God does not tolerate this". He DOES tolerate it, obviously, as it has happened, and is happening. Either He doesn't care, or he doesn't exist.)
I’m sure many in this room have witnessed miracles. Those children that have gone on,
I'm not sure if it really counts as a miracle if they're fucking dead
they’re probably where we’re all trying to get
I, for one, hope that you get there soon.
This is just an excuse to be an asshole. Look others believe in divinity and several gods and goddesses. And we say to allow doctors to the job they were trained for and went to school for. Faith healing is a farce. Nothing more. I'd even say that the gods had people get the knowledge to use it. While others might disagree I would have thought you and your ilk could accept that. Instead you do the faith healing prayer thing. Which causes more fucking harm.
I am reminded of the priest in the flood
A raft offers a ride to banks so he can get to dry land
'No thanks. God will provide"
A boat offers same.
"No thanks. God will provide"
A helicopter too is turned away
"no thanks. God will provide.
He later dies. When he is at the gates he says
"Why am I here? Why did I die?"
God said
"I sent a raft, a boat and a helicopter. What more did you want?"
Is it too far fetched for you but not for myself and others who believe in god or gods and goddesses to say that people who have the skills could be provided by the divine? If not then there is no need for this law. If so you might want to rethink your theology and reality.
Seriously this is just shit so you can let the poor fucking die isn't it? And taking advantage of their beliefs.
@Swede
Years ago, in some of these American cases, they released some court transcripts, a practice Conservative lawmakers and defense insisted be squashed.
They showed the parents had medicine for themselves and in many cases could prove doctor/Hospital visits for themselves. Their faith only extended to their childrens health, sometimes only the father/husbands. Since America hasn't a health system, most have to pay for medical attention, some suggested, like not observing Christmas, Easter or even Birthdays, also common in these sects, this was more about devoting their income to the church or personal selfishness.
"They’re there. They’ve got it made. If we can just live a righteous life, one day we’ll be with them again."
We can help you get there real quick ... ? Sounds like a win-win to me.
" “I’m sure many in this room have witnessed miracles. Those children that have gone on, they’re probably where we’re all trying to get."
It's a miracle when a child dies? Wait'll you see what happens when you use atheistic medicine on sick children.
Unless when you say children have gone on you're talking about becoming one with the force.
need i point out that this sort of thing is part of my reasons for being an antitheist?
religion poisons everything, and faith kills. if religious faith ever doesn't kill, it's because some "faithful" are hypocritical about it, at very least to the point where they'll take a sick kid to the doctor instead of earnestly praying over them. that makes them lacking in faith, but humanity --- theirs personally, and more generally --- benefits from it. less faith is always a good thing; failing that, then more hypocrisy in religion will suffice.
...
i keep saying more or less the above every time some faithful shithead allows kids to die because they're earnest about their faith in praying being better than medicine. i find that's still far more often than i'd like. betcha if i said it in between two such news cycles, i'd be derided for being the hostile, nasty kind of atheist who ought to show the faithful more respect.
Confused?
