[ That woman could’ve froze to death. That person should be ashamed of themselves for not helping. ]
Hating people because of their race, or gender, or religion, thinking somebody is subhuman because of those things isn’t a “political view” it’s an attitude, and it makes you a piece of shit.
If you support hatred, bigotry, and killing those you see as subhuman because of race, gender, religion - or standing by while others do so - then yeah, I’m not going to help you.
Not preventing the death of Nazis doesn’t make you as bad as a Nazi. Hating somebody because they are horrible doesn’t make you as bad as them.
By your logic, American and British soldiers and Marines were just as bad as Nazis, because killing Nazis is as bad as killing non-Nazis. Nah, bro, it isn’t.

Voting for trump does not make them a bad person even if I think it was a bad choice. Many people who voted for Trump did so because he was a republican and nothing else. They are not bigots, not the enemy.
You don't have to agree with the person to do the right thing. We are not at war with them.
Helping in this case is necessary. But one quick "call your president" would be amusing. Wrong, naturally, but an interesting thought experiment. Would helping after saying it increase or decrease their level of appreciation?
That they voted him doesn't necessarily mean they hate people because of race, gender or religion.
Even if they did... there's still a thing called 'basic human decency', or 'being a good Christian', or whatever else you want to call it.
(Incidentally, if you stop during an unexpected storm like this you could also find yourself stuck with your own vehicle actually blocking the road, plus, this looks like a populated area, one that the recovery services would be able to reach... so I myself might not have stopped. If it was up the arsehole of nowhere, probably. If there was someone waving their arms about, yeah.) WTFd anyway.
@ NeoMatrix
Leaving aside whether someone doesn't deserve your help if they are a Trump supporter, is it more important what the individual deserves or what society deserves?
Refusing to help someone in a situation like this just because of their politics makes us look bad, it pushes people on the fence into the Trump camp or at least into the right-wing, and that means more Republicans in office in the future, and more disastrous policies. Worse yet it will influence people's views on the reality of and necessity of addressing climate change, on the Affordable Care Act, or even on abortion. Studies show that when people identify with a certain party or certain ideology but where they have reservations that over time they tend to change their beliefs to match their label.
Society deserves smarter public servants, people who know that climate change is real and needs to be addressed, people who know that everyone deserves access to healthcare. Being mean to Trump supporters or other right-wingers is giving the other side free propaganda to use against us.
If we want a better society we must think strategically in terms of our speech and our actions, about how that will influence other people's politics and votes, rather than lashing out emotionally at our opponents. You attract more flies with honey than with vinegar. We must behave better than the Trump supporters. An eye for an eye turns the whole world blind.
I'd have helped them.
It's the best way of destroying Donald Fart.
And there's an extremely good reason why Wehrmacht soldiers went West ward when they realised it - as in WWII - was all over.
As their Fuhrer had abandoned them .
Can't help people in dire situations if you want to audit the Fed.
Obama cared more about people than money. Just ask those in Detroit's car industry.
There's going to be less Donald Fart voters within Boeing, if he's going to be making cuts. Thus abandoning him .
I reckon they're not the only ones, either. Why?
Is he going to ensure Intel manufactures their CPUs etc only in America? Will he force Wal-Mart to stock goods only made in America: such as, say... shirts?:

He's certainly got a proven track record in putting 'America First ', sure.
You managed to assume you knew a person's entire personality based upon a name on a bumper sticker and lower yourself to the level you assumed them to be on. What a fucking paragon of virtue you are.
@NeoMatrix
Even better, you could strap yourself with dynamite and charge the car.
I'd advise you not to get all gung-ho for intelligence-based eugenics, Neo, because you've well demonstrated that you're no shining beacon of intelligent thought. There are dead & crumbling lighthouses on forgotten islands that shine brighter.
@Neo
Congrats, you just advocated death towards people who disagree with you.
You are officially an extremist.
I don't know if this really happened in this case. But this is a (possibly tongue-in-cheek) repeat of an actual case that was reported where somebody (if I recall, somebody officially out there to help, like highway patrol or a tow truck) left a woman stranded in a snow bank because she had a Bernie Sanders bumper sticker on her car. I suspect this is just a snide rehash of last year's story.
I was going to help her
Before the election, a past acquaintance (I shudder at the word "friend") of mine of Facebook shared a meme stating "If I saw Hillary bleeding by the side of the road, I would leave her to die, share if your agree". This person is a devout Christian who invokes Jesus in every second sentence he utters. The other half of his sentences are alt-right slogans. I didn't even bother calling him out on this, simply because his tiny little brain in his tiny little Trump world wouldn't have understood the contradition anyway.
I thought that meme was every bit as disgusting as the post quoted above. Both are deplorable.
Help the person and serve as an example of people who care, unlike the Trump ideology. Maybe that person will vote differently next time.
I would've helped this person.
I hope they were able to get unstuck out of that ditch.
Always take the high road....
No rioting....
No instigated violence....
Be noble.
As much as I get a good chuckle out of seeing that Neo-Nazi get decked the other day, I don't think that's the right thing to handle things.
The best revolutions, the ones that mostly don't go full-circle, tend to be the less violent ones.
Only in the rarest of cases is a violent revolution necessary.
As for folks you don't like in a more mundane sense (like here)....JUST HELP THEM OUT OF THE SNOW! No only is it the right thing to do, it may "wake them up".
FFS! I hope this story is bullshit. I really, really do.
You see someone out in the snow, and you're in a condition to help them, then that is what you do. That is what decent people, and even some not-so-decent people, do!
Karma can be a real bitch. You should hope you never find yourself stranded with a Sanders or Clinton sticker on your car, lest you encounter other assholes as irritating as you.
Take the mother-fucking high road! There are so few people on it.,,
@Spuki
It's reassuring to see someone else uncomfortable with that meme of the Neo-Nazi getting punched.
Sure, it's a little cathartic but it's not helping us at all.
Leaving someone to die because of how they voted is honestly pretty damn low, no matter which side does it. Helping someone regardless of how they voted makes you a better person, and honestly, that's what matters. And yes, I would say that even if it was a Trump supporter helping someone who voted for Hillary or Bernie out of a sticky jam, because even people with bad politics can still be good people.
...And then there's people like Neo who are bad people, proud of being bad people, and yet wonder why nobody likes them.
@ NeoMatrix:
Come on already - and that's coming from someone who thinks Trump is going to leave the world far more fucked up than he found it.
Don't you get it, yet? If you want people to treat you a certain way, but fail to model that behaviour in how you treat others, you're a hypocrite and a fool - and worse.
@ Anon-e-moose:
You have that right. Anyone care to guess what happened to German POWs in the tender, loving care of their Soviet captors ('cause I actually know!)
@PsychoTits
I think it's too late for him. He's basically more about violently pursuing his ideological superiority than he is about anything else. He's sacrificed his morals in the name of his philosophy.
He's an extremist, a fundamentalist, and unless he realizes that, there's no hope for him.
And I don't think he ever will.
Trump voters are bigots by definition of voting for a man whose campaign was centred around bigotry. However, bigotry isn't a killable offence.
@Neo: Why am I not surprised that you think politics is genetic?
@Psycho Tits and Zachski.
Let's not beat around the bush here - these people want us dead. Trump cultists want us all dead. I think the "moral high road" doesn't really have an effect anymore. If atheists were trapped on the side of the road, these vermin would leave us to die too.
So yeah, what goes around comes around. What would you do, roll over and let them destroy you? It's not about ideology. It's about survival.
@NeoMatrix:
The question you should be asking yourself is why you seem so desperate to become what you hate: You're convinced they - that entire mass of often ignorant Trump voters - want us dead.
Let's want them dead back!
Nothing bad has ever come of the MAD doctrine, after all. LOL.
What's the difference between you and them at that point?
I'm actually glad he didn't help her, mostly because he is a black male, and she might get scared and think he is trying to rob her, and he'll be the next statistic of black men killed unjustly by cops.
HOWEVER, Don't make fun of the woman,cause that may have been you.
EDIT: I believe the poster is female. My glasses were off when I saw this the first time. Point about POC getting unjustly harassed still stands though.
So Donald Fart says he'll be giving Federal aid to Georgia after that tornado hit.
There's his wish to 'Audit the Fed' equally destroyed, then.
Strange how Hillary was at your inauguration a couple of days ago, eh?
I guess another 'Promise' reneged on won't 'do any harm' for you to add another to your litany of FAIL way before that couple of days ago.
Better get cracking on that 'Wall', Wiggy.
We should help them when they are in need, for two reasons: First, because it's the right thing to do. Seconds, because if the roles were reversed, they would not help you. By choosing to help those who would not help us, we show we are not like them; unlike the "I got mine, screw everyone else" crowd, we will pick you up when you're down. I'm frustrated that so many of my fellow Americans backed Drumph too, but he who fights monsters should take care not to become a monster himself.
You're right, NeoMatrix, let's not beat around the bush.
You're exactly as bad as the Trump supporters, a religious fanatic of atheism. You're the living oxymoron of "liberal fascism", or perhaps better yet, proof that it isn't an oxymoron.
You are everything an intelligent, free-thinking liberal should be fighting against.
You are an enemy in the same way Trump is my enemy.
You are my enemy in the same way Christian and Islamic fundamentalism are my enemies.
The very ideals you espouse go against liberal ideology. Against progressive ideology.
It's the same damn toxicity, just with "atheist" taped over the word "conservative".
That is exactly what you are and what you espouse.
I just hope you go to jail before you kill someone and not after.
@NeoNazi
So what if this person was the spouse or partner of someone who voted for Trump, and they voted for someone else, what if there was a child in the car?
Of course none of this matters one damn bit to you seeing how you are one of the most bigoted self righteous wastes of carbon and oxygen to roam the planet, you belong together with every other insane extremist in the world, you are no different than any of them. My guess is that given the opportunity you would kill everyone that doesn't see things exactly as you do, including 99% of the people who regularly post comments to this site.
This is the age of the cell phone. It's sort of unlikely that help was needed. Besides, as a Trump supporter she might very well blow the head off of a stranger that approached the car. That would be a guarantee if that stranger was black. (*ONLY KIDDING! I couldn't resist. I'm so ashamed of myself.*)
Meh, I'd have stopped to help that person, but I'd have first shouted at them from a distance to ask them if they needed help. Given that the average Trump supporter views Arab immigrants like me as some sort of existential threat, I'm not risking a shotgun to the face out of altruism.
And if it galls them to be pulled out of a ditch by a person whom they would have happily bombed or left to die in a warzone, then it's all the better.
That doesn't extend to social help though: I'll help them on a personal level, but otherwise I honestly hope that the red states turn into cesspools of disease, ignorance, and exploitation as a result of their political choices. Maybe that's the only way they'll learn.
I’d have stopped to help. When the person was safe & ready to be on their way, I’d say, “You know why I stopped to help you? Because I’m a socialist, & I believe we’re all in this life’ thing together. Be safe, now!”
Confused?
