My First Encounter with a Real Demon

I am a Christian. Being that align myself with Jesus Christ, I now know that I have power over all kinds of demonic spirits and other evil entities. But this was not always the case.

I struggled earlier in my Christian walk mostly because I was trapped in a state of ignorance. It was and still is difficult to find a church that will even honestly touch the subject of demons and how they gain access into our lives. And it's rarer still to find churches that make deliverance and the casting out of demons a priority. Except for the Catholic Church, not many within the Christian community want to touch this sort of subject matter.

Which is precisely why I decided to do so myself.

The night I gave my life to Jesus I had the most incredible experience. I was only 13 years old, but something inside of me shifted or changed. As I was walking around in my father's back yard under the evening light, five "men" who looked like guardian warriors suddenly appeared around me, dressed in some type of battle armor and shining like they had moonlight coming from their skin. My childhood fear of the dark left instantly and never returned. I somehow instinctively knew these 'men' were good and there to protect me.

My eyes became open to the spirit realm; and from that time onward I've had the ability to occasionally see or detect the presence of angels, and also to detect the presence of evil, unclean or demonic spirits. I can also detect people's thoughts and intentions at times. It's not something I can necessarily control: it just sort of happens when I'm in certain situations.

My very first encounter with a demon took place shortly after that. I want to say this before sharing what happened: actual demonic encounters are rare. What most people think is an encounter with a demon is really an encounter with an evil spirit, or with an unclean spirit. These are entirely different entities than a demonic spirit.

Demons (or devils as they are sometimes called) are old, ancient spirits that come from a different era in time than our own. They are meaner, darker and more powerful than other evil spirits are. When you're in the presence of a demon you'll know it, because you can feel the hair on the back of your neck stand up. You can feel its hatred, venom and evilness directed to you by its stare.

Even within the demonic realm there are different types of demons. They're not all the same. Jesus spoke for instance about 'this kind' of demon in Matthew 17:21. If there's a 'this kind' of demon, it stands to reason that there are other kinds as well. The experience I first had wasn't with an ordinary evil or an unclean spirit. I came face to face with an actual demonic entity.

One evening while I was asleep I had a dream-vision. When these happen they can be so powerful that I don't know if I'm asleep or awake. That's how real the experience is. I saw myself standing alone in a room that was shaped very squarely. It had four walls and from above a spotlight . Outside of the circle of light that I was stood in, the rest of the room was completely dark. But I had an eerie feeling that I wasn't alone.

As I scanned the darker areas of the room, my eyes eventually landed on what looked like two glowing red lights staring back at me. To my stark terror I realized they were eyes belonging to what I can only describe as a dark, hairy unearthly creature that resembled a large blackish wolf.

The best description I can offer is something like this:

This is an image of an actual demon from Chinese culture called a yao guai. (Yao guai are a type of demon according to Chinese mythology that seek immortality by abducting and devouring a holy man.)

The moment I recognized it, this 'thing' ran from its corner of the room at full speed and attacked me. Standing on its hind legs like a man, it bit down on my forearm as I used it for a shield against this monster's teeth. I was absolutely terrified beyond measure. The fear was too real and palpable to describe in proper words. This demonic creature towered over me, and I quickly realized it was overpowering me. As I began to fall to the floor - where certain doom awaited me - from the core of my belly without a single involvement of my mind I shouted at the top of my lungs: "IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST!"

As I did, supernatural strength welled up on the inside of me. Suddenly I had power to take that demonic being by its mouth, and I wrenched its lower jaw out of socket. It fell to the floor at my feet and did a most amazing thing: it shrank in size until it was no bigger than a small puppy, and it began shaking, crying and begging profusely for me to not harm it any further. It suddenly looked so pitiful and powerless to me, like a small wet dog, that I actually started feeling sorry for it. The name of Jesus Christ totally emasculated the thing!

As I came out of this dream-like experience, I was made aware of the power and might that stands behind the name of Jesus Christ. Demons are absolutely terrified of that Name and the power that it represents.

"When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, "Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!" Luke 10:17

I've had multiple experiences with evil spiritual beings since that time - some that I'll probably share in the future, and some that I probably won't. In each encounter the Name and power of Jesus Christ proved superior to the power of darkness at work. It's my sincere hope that as you read this testimony and the ebooks I've provided for you; you too will become familiar with the power in the name of Jesus Christ. Truly there is no greater name carrying that level of power behind it on the planet!

"Now there were some itinerant Jewish exorcists who tried to invoke the name of Jesus Christ over those with evil spirits. They would say 'I bind you by Jesus, whom Paul proclaims.' Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. Eventually, one of the evil spirits answered them, 'Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but you, who are you?' Then the man with the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. The attack was so violent that they ran out the house, naked and wounded. This became known to all the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus, and fear came over all of them. So the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor." Acts 19:13-17

There is POWER in the Name of Jesus!

We're living at a time as believers where we can no longer afford to ignore the reality of the evil side of the spiritual realm. Demons, evil spirits, jinn, ghosts, wicked spirits and other unclean types of spirit are REAL - whether we want them to be or not. Those things exist and are responsible for not only creating massive amounts of death and destruction in the world - they're also responsible for much of the trouble in your own life too. Jesus not only taught His disciples about demons; He showed them how to effectively deal with them. Now it's time for YOU to learn!
