And what if I disagree with you on evolution and the age of the earth? Would that make me a fundamentalist?
Yes, because you are ignoring science.
And there we have it...
Fundamentalist = Anyone that DARES to have an opinion that [XXXX] disagrees with.
You are dismissed, Fundie!
That is established fact, not something to have an opinion about. Do you have an opinion about gravity, too? You lose.
The age of the earth is NOT established fact and it changes as we learn more. Neither of us knows how old the earth is. You continue to prove what an intolerant fundie you truly are.

No, you are a fundamentalist if you ignore science because the bible says otherwise. Stan, honey, if you take a science class, the teacher can explain HOW we know the age of the earth, WHAT evidence we have, WHERE you can go to see that evidence, and HOW people can find out more. That doesn't work with "goddidit".
Do you understand what I'm saying, Stan? No? Then you're a fundie or an imbecile, and the two are not mutually exclusive.
What if you disagree with me on algebra and the square-root of Pi? Would that make you a fundamentalist, or a stupid git?
Probably both...
Fundamentalism = refusing to adapt in the face of new evidence.
Sure, the age of the Earth is perhaps not fully determined yet. But it is somewhere in the region of 4,5 billion years; that's a fact.
Dr. Buzz Aldrin:

As he's a Conservative Christian, he performed the first religious ceremony - taking Communion, as a Presbyterian - on another world, soon after landing the LEM 'Eagle' onto the Sea of Tranquility; which you see him in via the photo above, taken by Neil Armstrong. And on the subject of photos...:

So why has he never disputed the findings by NASA scientists on the 'Genesis Rock' brought back by fellow Apollo astronauts in a later mission; which was proven to be 4.5 billion years old: the exact same age as Earth?
Apparently he can reconcile his Christian beliefs with proven scientific fact . Unless you'd like to disagree, nay, dispute that: to Dr. Aldrin's face...!
(*Crickets chirp *)
...thought not. Even though Dr. Aldrin is a Conservative Christian, he would agree that you cannot spell 'Fundamentalist' without the word Mental : as in complete denial of Reality .
Planet Reality. As he has looked at it from the Moon, thus Buzz has a rather unique perspective on proven scientific facts, he lives there.
Do you ?
I don't have to be "tolerant" of a belief that directly contradicts provable reality. It's not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of fact.
"Blue looks better on me than red" is an opinion. It can't be proven or disproven. This is a matter of scientific fact. Even if we don't have the answer yet, there IS an answer. And science's answer is a lot closer than the Bible's.
Wow, Stan, you're a complete asshole. Fundies are the ones who say things like "the age of the earth is not established fact". The purpose of this website is to laugh at people who say such things. As you did.
Stan, we're trying to establish the age of the earth precisely. We're almost certain, though, that it was born on a Saturday.
"And what if I disagree with you on evolution and the age of the earth? Would that make me a fundamentalist? "
No, ignoring observable reality because book-o-fairy-tales makes you a fundamentalist.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
