It was a sensational discovery - human footprints said to be 40,000 years old, preserved by volcanic ash in an abandoned quarry in Mexico.
It is exciting. Before Jesus returns I believe we shall find out about the "giants" in the land. It is evidence that humans have not evolved, but rather we have shrunk, both in size, intelligence, and character.

Richard hasn't heard of Dr. Carl Baugh, he has the evidence of giants.

[quote] One of many human footprints contemporary with dinosaurs taken from the Paluxy River located in Dinosaur Park near Glen Rose, Texas. Pictured with my foot, it exceeds 45 cm (18 inches) in length. The cross-sectional cuts determined through compression studies that it was a woman's footprint. Estimates indicate her stature approximately 305 cm (10 feet) and 454 kg (1,000 lbs). Several strata of human prints with dinosaur prints have been excavated in this park. According to Dr. Carl Baugh, the archeologist who coordinated the excavations, these strata were laid down during the first few days of Noah's flood when water levels were low enough to allow daily tidal changes to form layers of mud so fleeing creatures could seek higher ground -- the upper strata showed no prints.
Obviously the people who lived contemporary with dinosaurs were intelligent, and the footprints indicate that they were quite human, as the large toe on primates is located close to the heel to facilitate clinging to branches.

Footprints show we're dumber? Not sure how you 'fundied' to that conclusion.
Yes, and shrunk in character. Things were so much better when you could stone your kids to death, women were property and keeping slaves was a good thing!
Why do so many of these fundies sound like they are taking concepts they learned from playing Dungeons & Dragons and are applying them to the real world? I mean, I've got nothing against D&D, but kids ... it's just make believe.
[I know D&D took a lot of it's "mythology" from real world stories and mythology, so the influence is in the other direction. But still, these people seem so, so desperate for something magical in their lives. It's just sad.]
We are so much stupider, with our airplanes, plasma tv's, universities, space shuttles, vaccines, computers and sattelite communications.
Footprints --> "giants" --> we haven't EVOLVED, we've changed over time. :P
I count two non-sequiturs and a rather gratuitous mention of original sin, via an unsupported assertion about the physical size of early humanity which contradicts all available evidence. Impressive!
Since everyone else has already addressed the important stuff, I'll just be the token pedant and point out that if you say both , it should refer to two things, not three.
Oh, and regarding the actual content of the post, I will say that I am torn between a desire to laugh at this idiocy and a desire to beat the perpetrator of it with a clue-by-four.

"It is evidence that humans have not evolved, but rather we have shrunk, both in size, intelligence, and character."
I'm willing to believe that your intelligence and character have shrunk.
Actually, finding human footprints from 40,000 years ago in Mexico would do nothing to the current understanding of human evolution but push back the peopling of the Americas a few thousand years.
As I suspected, I found that this is based on an actual discovery. The only thing he got wrong was that they were giants. You can read about it here .
A) If Richard admits that the footprints are 40,000 years old, that contradicts the standard creationist timeline of a < 10,000 year old Earth.
B) According to the theory of evolution, humans have been around in roughly our current form for WAY more than 40,000 years, so the footprints don't contradict evolution in the slightest.
Sorry Rich. You loose. :-P
*shrug* From what I remember, humans are thought to have arrived in the americas about 45,000 years ago, giving them roughly 5,000 years (or nearly the age of the Earth according to YECs) to migrate from the great white north, to mexico. Hardly suprising to anyone with half a brain, then, that we might find such a thing. Not really that sensational.
I just looked at the thread and found that he linked to this later story which questions both the age of the find and whether they are human prints. It also quite clearly says they are not the prints of giants:
"Gonzalez' colleague at JMU, Professor Dave Huddart, demonstrated the likeness to his own feet: 'If I put my foot beside it, size 8½, it looks a typical size...'
Bad scholarship mixed with wishful thinking -- the mark of true creation science.
His conclusions doesn't seem to follow from the article he's quoting at all. Nothing says these footprints were large, and even if they were, I don't see what this would have to do with intelligence or character. Plus, he says both, then lists three things.
His penis shrunk in size, "intelligence" (what he can do with it), and "charecter" (how good he is at doing things with it), and now he's taking it all out on the world.
Ummm... Wouldn't a fundie say that the world didn't exist 40,000 years ago?
Quite aside from which, we have cave paintings and remains here in Australia that are at least 40,000 years old.
Curiously, none of those indigenous cultures have an oral record of a flood.

Speak for yourself!
It is exciting
I'll say.
It therefore means that the anime series "Macross Frontier" is a documentary:

And that Zentraedi - such as Queadluun Rau pilot Klein Klan here - exist .
I for one welcome our 50-80 foot high overlords: and ladies .
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
