[on a gay kid being shot for being openly day and dressing like a female ]

My god, that's like something from an action movie. The fact that he you know, walked out all calm. Disgusting that he showed little or no remorse, though if he showed remorse he wouldn't have done it in the first place.

Maybe he was drunk or in a odd state of mind =D. When I'm drunk I smash bottles and well... try to hit people with them, and unless my friends stop me, then I would probably hit someone.

I'm not going to lie, by the sounds of it, the way that guy was acting. The fact that he was so openly gay at that age, and coming to school dressed that way is; as someone stated before, basically making himself a bully magnet. Though killing him wasn't necessarily the BEST way to resolve things, if someone had have just bashed him or something he might have come to his senses.

School is no place to freely express your homosexuality. Especially not to the extreme of painting your nails pink. You'd get absolutely smashed where I live for doing that =p.
It could have been worse, He might have made it to Senior School (High School, w.e Americans call it) and got totally smashed he probably would have suffered a long and painful death, like an American guy suffered who was attending University of California.

He got bashed, then strapped to a pole and left for death, he later died.

Not to mention the bad and cruel 'harmless jokes' that the seniors play on the new kids (whatever the lame word they use for that is).

Ok, You may be gay, but with the pressure being put on in American schools. Why would anyone want to. I don't really think people shouldn't openly gay, they just should maybe wait until they're out of school, and the world is more open and you're not forced to go to school. etc.

[Last time i check people had the right to express themselves without being hated upon. I could walk down the street with my piercings in, wearing all black and my hair as emo as i could possibly make it and not be disturbed by anyone. A gangsta could wear his skin tight shirts and nike hats and any other stereotypical piece of clothing and not have anything happen to him.]

This is a world of racism, violence and god only knows what other shit happens in this world. I was never said "Oh my, he should never wear pink nails because im going to pull a gun out of my backpack and shoot him"; I said that he could have avoided the conflict by not having the pink nails. Oh, I'm sure he is going to be absolutely disheartened because he can't wear his pretty pink nails - As said one million times, by doing so he bought it upon himself!

I'm not defending the kid, nor standing up for him, I'm taking the viewpoint of both sides.

This is NOT what I would do to the kid if he wore pink nails in front of me. It's what the citizens of the world would do to him, and as you can see, he was murdered for it! It may not necessarily have been the pink nails.

It doesn't just happen in America; you try walking through Surfers Paradise on a Friday night with pink nails and gay clothes, You would more than likely get bottled, glassed or stabbed. It's happened before.

It's almost a way of life, there's ways to avoid it and this kid didn't do it. Sure he has a right to express himself, though who would express themself when there's a chance you will get bashed, or worse; murdered.

He obviously wasn't afraid to dress like he did, and he paid the ultimate consequence. Yeah he lives in an apparent "Free Nation", yet he still died, by saying such things you're only criticizing your own country.

He doesn't have to stop being gay to avoid the conflict, he simply has to stop dressing the way he was, not painting his nails pink, and saying to people they have a "Nice ass".
