On Sunday, February 7, 2016, a dead child was allegedly raised back to life at the Mountain Miracle and Liberation Ministries, a.k.a Liberation City.
The occurrence which was like a scene from a Nollywood movie left everyone in the church stunned. The 6-month old child said to have been ill for weeks was brought to the church by her parents for prayers. Unfortunately, the child gave up the ghost as soon as they arrived the church.
Her frantic parents eventually wept and pushed their way through to the podium where the man of God, Dr. Chris Okafor, ministered to other people, and he immediately took the child from them and prayed fervently. Then he dropped the child on the altar and commanded her spirit to come back and the child moved! The congregation exploded in tumultuous praise as the child continued to move and even later drank some water!

" The congregation exploded in tumultuous praise as the child continued to move and even later drank some water!"
And... That's all the dead child did? Moved and drank water? Didn't talk, play, or anything else of the sort? Reminds me of those experiments of electrocuting dead frogs to make them move, or the monkey head transplant.
What, no video? Don't you know you need to broadcast your miracles in order to max your scam audience, "Dr."? You've got a lot to learn about being a religious con artist, man.
Indeed such things are known to occur in real Christian churches! Christians don't need any secular "doctors", or the Obama"care" scam to stay healthy. Jesus heals!
2 Chronicles 16:12-13
12 And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the Lord, but to the physicians.
13 And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.

Sorry Jerry, but even that hideous, disgusting David J. Stewart disagrees with you.
"There are many misled religious people today who errantly think it is God's will to heal every illness, every disease and every injury. Nothing could be further from the truth of God's Word. I've actually had some screwball religious people tell me that I ought to discard my pain medications, trust God and I'll be physically well again. But they don't have the faith or ability to heal me. They talk the talk, but they can't walk the walk. They talk as fools. They actually blame the suffering person for not having enough faith. What a rotten and malicious thing to say to a person in pain. They are ignorant of the Scriptures and living in a fantasy world. There is a fine line between faith and foolishness."

Either their lying, faking or the kid was out cold.

Davy The Kidfiddler had a moment of sanity?! WOW!
And this was of course monitored by medical equipment and certified doctors and nurses, and the whole thing was filmed?
You have heard of CPR, right? The dropping of the child on the altar might have jolted her back to life again. You’re not declared death until your heart has definitely stopped and your brain starts deteriorating.

Now explain to us how this quote proves that Jesus is better at medicine than doctors? All this shows is that some guy had a medical condition, went to a doctor and then died 2 years later. It doesn't even claim that the medical condition was the cause of his death.
Wasn't 40 the average lifespan of a person in those days anyway?
OK, assuming this narrative is correct, how do you know that the child was 100% dead without a medical examination & pronouncement of death by a coroner? Lots of people in the past were prematurely pronounced dead.

...so they have a policy of forcing their parishioners to hand over their smartphones at the door? They ban news journalists & their camera crews too. Also James Randi & his JREF.

You've been gone a fair few days, Jer. S'matter: been ill ?!
You're just embarrassing yourself , subhuman Jerry.
@Svata
That would explain a great deal. Certainly his denomination.

3 Chronic Les East Fife 4, Forfar 5 : And Asa, despite dying, played for West Bromwich Albion in 1967, thus helping his team win the FA Cup Final in 1968.
Hey, if a kid can come back to life, then what's stopping a grown person from doing the same, Jer? Asa Hartford is still in football to this day, working as the scout for Norwich City. [/Doug Piranha-levels of sarcasm]
...and if this 'Resurrection' malarkey has any credibility, then do a Budd Dwyer and become an hero now. If you don't, you'll only prove you're more Atheist than we Atheists are, if you're too scared to eat that .357 snack as he did. Or don't have much faith in your faith , Jer...?!
OK, I believe that miracles do happen, but for some reason fundie Protestants think that only their conmen clergy like Pat Robertson can perform them. They criticize Catholics for venerating saints and attributing miracles to them, but essentialy cannonize these frauds who exploit them.
Just like how they reported how "Dr." Walter Martin died on his knees in prayer, when the police report says that he died on the toilet.
At least the Catholic, Orthodox, Hindu, and Sufi saints were deeply honest, spiritual people.

Indeed church goers are well known for lies like this, being a huge liar myself I can tell you about forty I've made up and another dozen or so of my brother liars in Christ have told.

This is such a sad story. Obviously, the child wasn't dead to begin with. She was declared dead at the church after being ill for weeks. Severely ill, probably unconscious, the child appears lifeless and then she wakes up. Magic! A miracle!
That child did not receive real medical help. She had no real intervention whatsoever after being so near death. Are we pretending that kid is still alive now? I don't think so. And how many other sick people, and the parents of sick children, are going to forgo medical treatment because they heard this story and believe it's true?
Confused?
