\"American has become a nation of sex-perverts, even to the point of \"Christian\" woman wearing pants. \"
The mind boggles, spins and does a jack knife dive into insanity.
I don't know what's worse, thinking that Robert's idea of a top notch sexual sin is a pair of women's slacks or thinking about where in the hell does a person live that they think women wearing pants is only something you see in Hollywood??

no law in the bible that says anything about wearing pants. It seems like everyone in those days wore robes, or at least thats what the Renaissance and Baroque Paintings indicated.

*It seems like everyone in those days wore robes,
Pretty much.
Jerusalem under the Romans was fairly poor. As such, I doubt that the common person had any money to spend on fancy clothing.

That site is a fundie gold mine. Apparently women are supposed to dress like women, but cultural norms regarding wardrome have changed. Are they supposed to dress like women when Leviticus was written? Speaking of changing times, why aren't women covering their heads anymore? Fundies seem to believe Paul on sex and women's roles, so what happened to head coverings?
The mind boggles.

\"sex-perverts\"
As opposed to the other kinds, food-perverts, jogging-perverts, chair-perverts etc.

I went to the site and was looking at their ridiculous abortion essays. I clicked on one essay entitled \"Horrors of Abortion,\" and Symantec popped up, and guess what? The Jesus-lovers gave me a trojan.
Assholes.

Well hey, I don't think that women should wear pants either. Just for a different reason.

\"Hollywood is without a doubt one of the most hideous and evil cesspools of sexual perversion in the world.\"
You seem to have missed a crucial \"Fundy International\" meeting Rob; most fundies are now claiming that New Orleans is, or rather was, the \"hideous and evil cesspool of sexual perversion,\" hence the hurricane. You know, your \"loving\" God's vengeful wrath and such.

\"My Secret Love\" from Calamity Jane, where she played a Tom-boy?
'The Celluloid Closet' is a very interesting book/documentary with a lot to say about fundy censorship of Hollywood in the 40's and 50's.

\"'Christian' woman wearing pants.\"
So, I guess he would take offense at my kilt.
You know, Jesus didn't wear pants, or black wing-tips, or a tie. Jesus wore hippie sandals and a robe. Jesus was probably a woman.

How does one take offence to pants? If he was comlaining about the local nudists club, then I might understand. But pants?
And if he is for oldschool clothing standards, let him prance around in a dress for the first 5 or 6 years of his life. That was quite common a \"few\" years ago.

that's funny because , like, you know during the ENGLISH REVOLUTION which was in the MID 17TH CENTURY a few groups of radical christians believed in the equality of the sexes and that dress was a major blocking point to that equality. As a result, groups like the Seekers and Ranters proposed a taking apart of \"dress codes\" The Ranters were even nudists for a period of time. AND they practiced free love. Gerrard Winstanley of the Diggers put a ld on free love because \"there can be no such thing as free love if only one person gets pregnant.\"

Pants had been invented by the Persians and adopted by the Romans for their cavalry officers and men. Jesus was a fairy.

Anytime you see someone saying that women wearing pants is something new, or Hollywood-inspired, you can be rather sure that the rest of the stuff they are saying will also be full of innaccurate \"facts\" (if they can't even take the time to research the basic history of world clothing in an article about clothing...well...)
