My wife and I shared a meal with some Christian friends last night, and I would like to share something which came up in conversation.

A young man with learning difficulties had just lost his mother. He worked in the local Larchfield community, and he had spent almost a full day screaming with grief. Staff and friends were unable to console him. Suddenly he calmed down, turned to the person near him and said, "God loves me."

It does not take great intelligence to discover the simple truth that we are loved by God. But are some of us using our intelligence to try to justify what we want to believe, rather than seeking the truth?
