Quote# 21784

If you were to create a game/competition.
It is you who has sole right to make the rules, being the creator of the game.
You could stipulate that the contestants could make the rules up as they whent, rules that might help the free flow of the game or cause the game to come to a halt , but then you have already made a rule(there is no rules).
You could create rules, then the contestants being free willed could breake the rules because it suited them, you as the games creator at this point could
A:disqualify all cheating contestants,
B:turn a blind eye to the cheating
C: create a new rule that over writes the first rules
So the game will work as long as your rules are followed and every thing here would be well within your rite as the creator because it is your game.
This system works with games created by a collective group as long as the governing body is in agreement with each other, but when one dissagrees with the rules and has their own ideas the a slightly different game is invented

Atheism is different to this.
Atheism says there is no ultimate governing body over this game we call life, we are all playing our own "game" making up our own rules as we go along. If this were the case we would have no right to critisize or dictate the rules to another, for their "game" is there own created by them selfs. If someone violates the rules of your game, that is they are living by their own rules, in the eyes of the atheist it cannot be immoral.
Most atheists though cannot live like this, because they cannot live without at least some of there own rules being followed. and like wise society cannot exist if there werent rules handed down from a higher authority, namely God
For it is only the creator who has the exclusive right to impose rules. It would be immoral for a man or a society to impose rules on a nother man unless they were handed down from the creator of this world.

Pregnancy is a normal healthy occurance. Birthcontrol pills is the artifical interuption of that natural occurance. Taking the pill is going against the natural order of things and therefore you have side effects.

Quote# 21781

Here is my postulation; the NEA is unashamedly, blatantly and purposefully anti-God, anti-family, anti-children, anti-marriage, pro-death and pro-gay. Unfortunately, the NEA represents the majority of the nation’s public school teachers and is by far the United States’ largest and in my considered opinion, the most dangerously influential labor union in existence today.

Here is a recent example, just a short while ago the NEA awarded its Creative Leadership in Human Rights to Kevin Jennings, co-founder and director of GLSEN (Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network). GLSEN is one of the most radical gay rights organizations in existence today and seeks to directly and overtly indoctrinate your children into the homosexual abomination through the public schools. In its document titled, Ten Things Educators Can Do, GLSEN makes the following recommendation, “Educators need to integrate LGBT (Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender) issues throughout the [public school] curriculum...” Do you think that GLSEN sounds like a group the NEA needs to endorse, and by proxy we as parents willingly endorse. I know, I can hear you question, how do I willing endorse GLSEN? You do so by sending your children into the public schools; because of your refusal to homeschool them. You don’t think so, if your kids are in public school, you sent them there willingly, didn’t you? Nobody forced you to, did they? At least not yet, praise the Lord!

Quote# 21779

Democrats have launched a new campaign to convince Congress and the American people that open homosexuality would be good for the United States' armed services. A group that assesses military preparedness says such a policy shift would seriously damage future U.S. military capabilities.

And they are using a skewed poll to support their arguments.

Forcing the military to provide an open door to those who choose the homosexual lifestyle would threaten the recruiting potential for the military.

I don't know ANY soldiers who want a homosexual sniffing around them, their barracks, or anywhere around them.

Quote# 21778

An arch-conservative cardinal chosen by the Pope to deliver this year’s Lenten meditations to the Vatican hierarchy has caused consternation by giving warning of an Antichrist who is “a pacifist, ecologist and ecumenist”.

Cardinal Giacomo Biffi, 78, who retired as Archbishop of Bologna three years ago, quoted Vladimir Solovyov (1853-1900), the Russian philosopher and mystic, as predicting that the Antichrist “will convoke an ecumenical council and seek the consensus of all the Christian confessions”.

The “masses” would follow the Antichrist, “with the exception of small groups of Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants” who would fight to prevent the watering down and ultimate destruction of the faith, he said.

The Pope traditionally withdraws from public view during the first week of Lent, conducting “spiritual exercises” in retreat with close advisers.

The choice of Cardinal Biffi raised eyebrows in the Vatican, given his sometimes eccentric views. The cardinal gave a warning of the coming of the Antichrist during his two decades as the Archbishop of Bologna, and said that an “invasion” of Muslim immigrants was undermining Europe’s Christian values.

Cardinal Biffi said that the Antichrist was not necessarily a person but “the reduction of Christianity to an ideology . . . The teaching that the great Russian philosopher left us is that Christianity cannot be reduced to a set of values. At the heart of being a Christian is the personal encounter with Jesus Christ.” But he quoted with approval from Solovyov’s Three Dialogues on War, Progress and the End of History, which suggests that the Antichrist is a real figure.

[Saudi kidnap, rape victim faces lashing for 'Crime' of being alone with man not related to her.]

A 19-year-old Saudi woman who was kidnapped, beaten and gang raped by seven men who then took photos of their victim and threatened to kill her, was sentenced under the country's Islamic-based law to 90 lashes for the "crime" of being alone with a man not related to her.

The woman is appealing to Saudi King Abdullah to intervene in the controversial case.

"I ask the king to consider me as one of his own daughters and have mercy on me and set me free from the 90 lashes," the woman said in an emotional interview published Monday in the Saudi Gazette.

"I was shocked at the verdict. I couldn't believe my ears. Ninety lashes! Ninety lashes!" the woman, identified only as "G," told the English-language newspaper.

Five months after the harsh judgment, her sentence has yet to be carried out, "G" said she waits in fear every day for the phone call telling her to submit to authorities to carry out her punishment.

Lashes are usually spread over several days. About 50 lashes are given at a time.

The woman's ordeal began a year ago when she was blackmailed into meeting a man who threatened to tell her family they were having a relationship outside wedlock, which is illegal in the desert kingdom, according to a report in The Scotsman newspaper.

I only mentioned Europe because it is a prime example of what can happen when you contracept the hell out of your country and have abortion on demand. It doesn't mean I want you to start pumping out babies. I was simply pointing out the dangers of widespread abortions and contraception going unchecked.

(A higher standard of living doesn't seem that bad to me.)

Sounds nice on the surface. But what happens when the Famed French or Italian culture dies out? You do know they are filling more coffins than cradles. Germany is in the same boat as well as Russia and Japan. And in a lot of parts of Africa as well.

Quote# 21771

There is a geological mystery in Earth's natural history at what is known as the Pleistocene - Holocene boundary. Science remains at a loss to explain the anomaly of an extraordinary body of evidence indicating global massive volcanism, gigantic tidal waves, seismic activity, large temperature swings, and mysterious mega fauna extinctions across the face of the Earth about 12,000 to 10,000 Radio Carbon years ago. It is no coincidence that the Bible at Genesis 1:2 describes the Earth as flooded, desolate, and in darkness in the timeframe closely corresponding to these catastrophic events in natural history.

Why the old "world that then was" ended, and why God made a new world and modern Man, requires a study into the ancient origins of Satan and the Angels. The Earth was originally established according to the Creator’s Intelligent Design and purpose. It has an ancient natural history that can be deciphered from the geologic record. It also has an equally important ancient spiritual history that can only be deciphered from the Bible. Knowledge of both is required to fully reconcile Geology and the Book of Genesis.

Quote# 21765

As much as some of you are in denial, men want a virgin. Back when society actually functioned, women remained virgins until marriage. Society was orderly - it worked. Then people were hoodwinked into adopting degeneracy instead of morallity, but that same hardwired desire hasn't changed in men. So, where does a man have to seek a decent virgin? Seems pretty obvious.

Quote# 21762

[From the Peninsula Clarion's Letters to the Editor page on 29 January 2007.]

"Reader voices strong opinion on atheists"

It's time to stomp out atheists in America. The majority of Americans would love to see atheists kicked out of America. If you don't believe in God, then get out of this country.

The United States is based on having freedom of speech, religion, etc., which means you can believe in God any way you want (Baptist, Catholic, Methodist, etc.), but you must believe.

I don't recall freedom of religion meaning no religion. Our currency even says, "In God We Trust." So, to all atheists in America: Get off our country.

Atheists have caused the ruin of this great nation by taking prayer out of our schools and being able to practice what can only be called evil. I don't care if they have never committed a crime, atheists are the reason crime is rampant.

Quote# 21761

Judgement Day

It will be without doubt the most shocking day ever, for there are billions who will stand before the throne thinking themselves to be saved, only to be cast into the lake of fire as quickly as they were raised from the dead. It will be a day of great joy for some, but a day of terrible despair for the majority of mankind.

For the lost on that day, there is no hope. It's over! Even after a million-billion years has passed by, the suffering in the lake of fire has only begun!!!

Few Christians, dare I say, very few Christians were saved because they felt God's love. Sinners are saved because they are convicted and ashamed of their sins, and because hell scares the living daylights out of them. Let's be honest, folks!

So why exactly is it that Joel Osteen, Rick Warren, and other "mega church" pastors utterly REFUSE to preach on this subject?

Can anyone say 'Purpose Driven Apostasy'?

Quote# 21758

This post is not intended for any one in particular, but I just had to post in order to express my deep dismay at the vast ignorance there is out there regarding the Bible. First of all don't forget it is the Word of God and inspired by the Holy Spirit. There for I will never listen to someone who attempts to "prove" how the Bible is "eroneous" or "contradictory". These are people who are lost yet in there sins and are going no where but to hell of their own free will. I pray that God in his lovingkindeness will have mercy on them before it is to late. And while you all are trying to find a justification for your sins within your supposed " inconsitencys" of the Bible let me reminde you that on the Great Jugdment Day there will be NO excuse before the Almighty God who will not have mercy on that day but will tell them "Depart from me, you workers of iniquity!" I ask you, Do you want to be a part of that crowd? No? Then take the Bible up, Read it from the fist to the last page and believe every word as a three year old would believe his parents. Don't text and context it. Don't run it through the filters of theology and philosophy; you won't have much left.Don't run it through your common sense, it will explain it's self. Dont demand God to prove it; in due time he will. Read it. Believe it. Feed upon it. Take it unto yourself for it is life. The Word of God is the ONLY way to heaven for the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.

Quote# 21755

*assuming here "intelligence" in species is something that can be measured, in some way

Think of the distribution of "intelligence" after billions of years of evolution. If you graphed it for every species excluding humans, sure some species would be smarter than others (e.g. circus animals smarter than my cat who's not the brightest), but not that much variation really.

Now add human beings, and you'd see a huge spike in your graph. It is reasonably to ask how evolution over billions of years could have produced one "species" that stands out so much. The only species to make its way to the moon. This species also has not even been challenged by another species for control of the earth (though the dinosaurs might have been a struggle).

Explain this one away evolutionists- doubt you can.

(Kerwin weighs in on the latest Anne Coulter gaffe)

Technically the term we are speaking of is not necessary slander of a homosexual since according to some interpretation of what God states homosexuals will burn in hell fire. You could blame he for a type of bigotry since so will adulterers, those having sex outside of wedlocks, thiefs, liars, etc.

The term we are speaking of could also refure to the practice of executing homosexuals by burning them at the stake but I know capital punishment was also reserved for adulterers, thiefs, and a number of other individuals we choose not to execute now.

Countries that have a strict justice system do seem to keep crimes like homosexuality, theft, etc. in better control than we do.
